Information reviewed October 25, 2026. Regular building hours, seasonal schedules, gym availability and program registration may differ.

Kittery Community Center Hours

The current official website footer and Winter/Spring 2026 guide publish the following regular hours. KCC also uses a reduced summer schedule, so the season matters.

DayRegular Published Hours
Monday–Friday6:00 AM–9:00 PM
Saturday8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Sunday8:00 AM–2:00 PM

Summer Schedule Difference

The published 2025 summer guide lists reduced hours from May 25 through August 31: Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM and Sunday closed. This is a historical seasonal example, not confirmation of the exact 2026 summer schedule.

Do not rely on standard hours for a holiday or special activity. The actual gym, fitness room, theatre or class can close or be reserved while other parts of the building remain open. Severe winter weather can also cause delayed openings.

Before traveling, use the official KCC calendar and call 207-439-3800 when a particular class, court or appointment is important.

Gymnasium

Indoor basketball, pickleball, volleyball, scheduled recreation and other sports or community activities.

Important facility distinction: The official KCC facility lists do not identify a public indoor swimming pool. Do not assume pool or swim-lesson access is available here. For help distinguishing pools, gyms and other recreation facilities, see our community recreation center facilities and fees guide.

Gymnasium: Open Gym, Basketball & Pickleball

The full-size gym is used for scheduled recreation activities including basketball and pickleball. The KCC publishes changing gym calendars, which means open gym is not guaranteed throughout the building’s operating hours.

Kittery residentsFree for youth, adults and seniors
Nonresident adults, 18+$5 per visit
Nonresident youth$3 per visit

How to Find an Open Gym Session

  2. Find the gym calendar or the site’s calendar listing.
  3. Choose the day and activity, such as basketball or pickleball.
  4. Check the age category and time slot.
  5. Confirm any equipment, footwear, resident fee or sign-in requirements.
  6. Call the center if your visit depends on a particular court being available.

Some schedule examples may include adult basketball, middle-school open gym, high-school open gym, pickleball and sports leagues. These are scheduled offerings, not permanent daily sessions.

Fitness Membership Prices and Walking Track Fees

The Fitness Suite requires a paid membership. KCC’s published pricing distinguishes Kittery residents from nonresidents and uses an annual membership ending December 31, prorated according to the joining month.

Fitness MembershipResidentNonresident
Youth, ages 11–17$140/year$168/year
Adult, ages 18–59$230/year$276/year
Senior, age 60+$140/year$168/year

These are the 2026 Winter/Spring guide’s published annual rates. Because memberships are prorated and the year is now nearing its end, request the actual October–December quote from reception rather than paying the full-year amount.

Walking Track Free — Residents

The 2026 program guide lists free track access for Kittery residents and current fitness members, subject to sign-in.

Nonresident Track $1 per visit

Based on the 2026 Winter/Spring guide. Confirm the current amount at reception.

Fitness Age Rules

  • Children age 10 and under cannot use the Fitness Suite or walking track.
  • Youth ages 11–15 need a supervising adult age 18 or older.
  • Fitness memberships are available in the 11–17 youth category.
  • Free fitness-room orientations are offered; arrange an available appointment through the center.

Personal Training Fees

The 2026 guide also publishes private personal-training rates of $40 for 30 minutes, $65 for an hour, $175 for five half-hour sessions and $275 for five hour-long sessions. Booking depends on trainer availability.

How to Register for Kittery Community Center Programs

KCC uses an official CivicRec activity-registration system. Participants can also register in person or by contacting the center.

  1. Open the official portal. Go to Kittery recreation registration.
  2. Create or access your account. On desktop, choose “Log in with Email”; on mobile, find “Account” and then the email login option.
  3. Register a new household if needed. Select “Sign Up,” enter your email address and complete the account-creation process.
  4. Verify your email. Enter the one-time passcode sent to your inbox and fill in the required household details.
  5. Choose a program. Search the catalog by activity, age group, date or available category.
  6. Review eligibility and fees. Confirm whether resident priority, registration windows, a nonresident surcharge or additional forms apply.
  7. Submit registration and payment. Complete the official checkout and keep the receipt showing your activity, session dates and payment.

Registration Rules Worth Knowing

  • The 2026 Winter/Spring guide states that Kittery residents receive priority registration for many programs.
  • A 20% nonresident surcharge is listed for programming; check whether it applies to your selected activity.
  • Each new session requires its own registration. Enrollment does not automatically carry forward.
  • Participants are required to maintain a yearly medical/emergency form and release/waiver.
  • Online card processing may carry an additional service fee.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The published 2026 guide says KCC-initiated cancellations receive a full refund or account credit. Participant withdrawal requests generally need to be submitted in writing at least two weeks before a program begins; qualifying approved refunds may incur a $20 administrative fee. After a session starts, ordinary withdrawal refunds are not issued under the published policy. Trip cancellations have separate conditions.

Read the cancellation terms shown during your actual registration. A later program-specific policy or newer seasonal guide may override the 2026 Winter/Spring wording.

How to Rent a Room or Theatre

  1. Decide on the exact event type, date, duration and expected guest count.
  2. Choose the theatre, community room, studio, gymnasium or another available room.
  3. Check whether food, catering, kitchen use, audio/video equipment or additional staffing is required.
  4. Contact the KCC rental team for a written availability and price quote.

  6. Confirm deposit, final balance, insurance or event conditions before making payment.
  7. Include setup, cleanup and equipment removal time in your booking.

The official short-form rental agreement asks for the event type, attendance, room requested, use period, primary and alternate contact, public admission charges, food and alcohol arrangements, tables/chairs and any staffing requirements.

Rental pricing: A complete, clearly current public rate table for every event space could not be confirmed. Do not rely on an estimated theatre or banquet rate. Request a written quotation from KCC showing the full event cost, fees and cancellation terms.

The arts-and-performance model at Kittery can be compared with our Gorton Community Center theatre and event-space guide. Gorton is a separate venue in Lake Forest, Illinois, with its own rental process and capacities.
