How to Make a Fenway Health Appointment

You can contact the medical scheduling team or use online scheduling through MyChart for eligible visits.

Booking by Phone

  1. Choose your service. Decide whether you need primary care, dental care, eye care, behavioral health, or another service.
  2. Call the correct department. For a medical visit, use 617-927-6000 during weekday scheduling hours.
  3. Identify yourself as a new or returning patient. Ask whether patient registration is required.
  4. Describe the appointment type. State whether you need a new-patient visit, physical, follow-up, test, consultation, or urgent medical advice.
  5. Confirm insurance and documentation. Ask about plan acceptance, referrals, records, and expected costs.
  6. Verify your appointment details. Record the date, time, department, floor, provider if assigned, and any preparation instructions.

Using MyChart Online

  1. Open the official Fenway online scheduling guide.
  2. Sign in to your MyChart account or follow the activation instructions if you need access.
  3. Choose the appointment section and select an eligible visit type.
  4. Select a provider and appointment time when direct scheduling is offered.
  5. If direct booking is unavailable, send an appointment request message or call scheduling.

MyChart supports eligible primary care visits, sick visits, follow-ups, physicals, reproductive health appointments, and certain video visits. Behavioral health, specialty visits, and some other appointment types require a message or phone booking.

Existing patient needing urgent advice after closing? Call 617-267-0900 and follow the prompts to reach the on-call medical provider. This is not an emergency department. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Insurance, MassHealth and Sliding-Scale Fees

Fenway Health accepts various insurance arrangements and offers financial assistance for eligible patients. Eligibility and actual charges depend on coverage, household circumstances, and services received.

MassHealth

Enrollment and coverage assistance may be available. Confirm whether your plan and selected primary care provider are properly assigned.

Commercial Insurance

Check whether the provider is in-network and whether your plan requires a referral, copayment, deductible, or authorization.

Uninsured Patients

Ask about the discounted sliding-fee schedule, which considers family size and income.

How to Request Help With Medical Costs

  1. Call 617-927-6007 or the general medical appointment number and ask about financial assistance counseling.
  2. Describe whether you are uninsured, recently lost coverage, or need help understanding your current plan.
  3. Ask which documents are required to establish household income, insurance eligibility, and family size.
  4. Complete the applicable assessment and clarify your financial responsibility before receiving services when possible.
Patient payment principle: Fenway states that patients are not denied access to services because of inability to pay and that discounts are available according to income and family size. This does not mean every visit, medicine, test, or specialty service is automatically free.
