Family Definition

The City defines a family as people living in the same household, up to five included members. Additional household members have separate annual charges.

Annual Member Benefits

Annual fitness members receive passes that can be used for guests, eligible group exercise classes or a daily pool visit, subject to City rules.

The City’s Gold Package combines an annual Community Center membership with one seasonal aquatic-facility membership. It is different from a fitness-only membership.

Aquatic pricing clarification: The membership page still labels some outdoor aquatic rates as 2025. Do not treat those seasonal prices as confirmed 2026 pool fees. Ask for the current aquatic season’s rates before paying.

How to Join

  1. Decide whether you need adult, senior, child, family or business membership.
  2. Check whether you qualify for Sunset Hills resident pricing.
  3. Open the official membership page and download the listed application if required.
  4. Bring identification and qualifying residency or business documentation.
  5. Contact the Community Center or visit the front desk to confirm the current amount and enrollment process.
  6. Complete the approved payment and retain your membership information.

Gymnasium Events & Larger Gatherings

The City’s separately published Gymnasium Events Policies document describes a larger event configuration in the gymnasium, distinct from standard meeting-room rentals.

  • Maximum of 30 player tables with eight chairs each, totaling 240 participants at tables.
  • Reservations typically allow setup starting at 4 PM, the event after 6 PM and conclusion at 10 PM.
  • The Parks Department provides standard setup and breakdown of tables and chairs.
  • Event organizers are responsible for decorations, rubbish removal and clearing personal items.
  • Projector, microphone and speakers may be available upon request.
  • Reservations are not accepted more than 12 months in advance under the published policy.

Decoration Restrictions

The gym event document prohibits glitter, confetti, helium balloons, glass and candles. Painter’s tape is the specified method for attaching permitted decorations to walls. Damage from other adhesives may be charged to the renter.

Gym rental pricing: The public gymnasium policy does not establish the current price for a special event. Request a full quote directly from the City instead of assuming meeting-room rates apply.

For another Missouri facility offering large indoor event spaces and aquatics, see our Gladstone Community Center facilities and rental guide. Gladstone is in the Kansas City area, not near Sunset Hills, and has separate rates.
