333 people with tables and chairs, or 500 with chairs only.

Half room

Medium Groups

Capacity: 60 people

Multiple banquet, classroom and meeting setup diagrams are published by the City.

Capacity is not guaranteed for every setup. Staging, equipment, dance floors, catering layouts, aisle requirements, accessibility and the approved floor plan may reduce usable guest capacity.

Local Planning Tip: Sherwood vs. Other Community Centers

Sherwood is especially useful when your main objective is to rent an event space in Fairfax City. If you are searching for ongoing fitness, aquatic programs, a theater box office or multiple class locations, you may need a different facility.

For example, our Reston Community Center guide explains a nearby regional option offering aquatics, CenterStage performances, classes and activities across two separate locations.

Willard–Sherwood Redevelopment Update

The City of Fairfax and Fairfax County have a redevelopment project for the adjacent Joseph Willard Health Center and Sherwood campus. The City reported that the project was authorized to proceed to construction in April 2026, while the optional renovation and addition to the existing Sherwood performing arts space was not proceeding at that time.

Construction or campus changes can affect parking, access and outdoor areas. Do not assume a current venue booking or entrance is unaffected without confirmation from the City.

See the official Willard–Sherwood project updates when planning a future event.
