The center offers separate memberships so visitors do not need to purchase access to every amenity when they only want to use one area.

Track Membership

Access to the indoor walking/running track. North Liberty residents already qualify for free track access.

Gymnasium Membership

Open gym activities, such as basketball, volleyball and pickleball, plus track access.

Fitness Membership

Weights, exercise and cardio equipment, plus gymnasium and track access.

Pool Membership

Pool access under the relevant membership conditions, together with gymnasium and track benefits.

All-Access Membership

Combines fitness equipment, pools, indoor track and open gym access.

Resident Financial Assistance

Income-based assistance is available for eligible city residents for annual memberships and selected programs.

Membership prices depend on the exact pass selected. The City publishes current options through North Liberty’s official membership catalog, including daily, monthly and annual choices.

Which pass should you buy? For one visit, the $6 daily admission is usually the simplest option. If you only want to walk indoors and live within North Liberty city limits, ask for the free resident track option first. Frequent swimmers and fitness users should compare annual memberships against repeated daily admission.

For help understanding which facilities are usually included in passes, our community recreation center fees and access guide explains the difference between day passes, pool access, fitness memberships and activity schedules.

Indoor Pool & Outdoor Pacha Aquatic Center

The Pacha Aquatic Center provides year-round indoor swimming and seasonal outdoor recreation.

Indoor Pool

  • Six-lane, 25-meter lap area.
  • Open throughout the year.
  • Lap swimming and aquatic fitness activities.
  • Swimming lessons and scheduled open-swim periods.
  • Diving board and observation deck.
  • Pool entry through the Community Center.

Outdoor Pool

  • Operates during the summer season.
  • Zero-depth entry and interactive water-play features.
  • Large water slides and splash-bucket play feature.
  • Swimming lessons and family recreation.
  • Separate outside entry through the concessions window and gate.
  • Hours and availability depend on season and weather.

When Can You Swim?

For indoor swimming, the regular building schedule is Monday through Friday 6 AM–9 PM and weekends 8 AM–6 PM, but the pool schedule allocates different blocks for lap swimming, lessons, aquafitness and public recreational swimming.

The City’s aquatic information identifies indoor open-swim availability on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Exact sessions are controlled by the current pool schedule.

For outdoor swimming, summer arrangements generally give pool pass holders access starting at noon and daily drop-in visitors access beginning at 1 PM. Seasonal hours can change, and access can be affected by capacity, weather and maintenance.

October visitor alert: The City’s September 2026 recreation notice identified September 6 as the last scheduled day of that outdoor pool season. For a visit in October 2026, plan around the indoor pool rather than assuming outdoor swimming is available.

How to Check the Exact Swim Session

  1. Open the official Pacha Aquatic Center schedule.
  2. Select the indoor or outdoor pool information.
  3. Choose lap swim, lessons, aquafitness or open swim.
  4. Check the relevant date and time block.
  5. Confirm entry conditions and payment requirements before traveling.

Gymnasiums, Fitness Equipment & Walking Track

Two Full-Size Gyms

Basketball and volleyball facilities support open gym sessions, sports leagues and scheduled activities.

Indoor Track

Approximately 1/8 mile per lap, offering an indoor walking or running option throughout the year.

Fitness Equipment

Free weights, weight stations, treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, stair steppers and rowing machines.

Gymnasium use is determined by available open-gym times, scheduled leagues, programs and facility reservations. Do not assume a court will be available just because the building is open.

Children who have not completed fifth grade must be accompanied by an adult, sibling or sitter age 16 or older, or participate in a supervised program. Fitness equipment has separate unsupervised age requirements, so families should check the applicable membership policy.

Visitors comparing municipal fitness facilities can also consult our North End Community Center gym and indoor track guide for another example of a public center with indoor exercise space, classes and activity-specific access.

Program refund requests generally need to be made at least three business days before the session begins, under the RecDesk policy. Membership refunds are evaluated differently and are generally limited to qualifying medical or relocation circumstances.

North Liberty Library Inside the Community Center

North Liberty Library shares the community center building but is not part of the recreation admission system.

Room Rentals, Conference Spaces & Events

North Liberty Community Center rents rooms and recreation spaces for meetings, private gatherings, parties, nonprofit events and approved activities. The Gerdin Conference Center is part of the facility.

The City’s facility-use agreement publishes the following room and gym rental fees. These are listed rates from the official form, not a guarantee of availability or final event cost.

Rental confirmation: Submitting the agreement is not the same as receiving a confirmed reservation. The City form states that a North Liberty staff member must call to confirm the rental. Verify current rates, facility condition and required payments before completing a contract.

Financial Assistance & Resident Discounts

North Liberty offers income-based financial assistance for eligible residents through recreation membership and selected program fees.

Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) is involved in verifying income eligibility. Assistance is based on qualifying documented financial circumstances.

  1. Check that your home address is within North Liberty city limits.
  2. Ask the Recreation Department for the current financial assistance process.
  3. Obtain the required application and income verification instructions.
  4. Complete the eligibility process with the relevant organization.
  5. Wait for the approved discount or assistance amount before purchasing a qualifying membership or registering for an activity.

Some insurance-based fitness benefits, including SilverSneakers or Renew Active, may also apply to eligible patrons. Verify the specific coverage and facility access rather than assuming a plan includes every amenity.

Save money: If you are a qualifying North Liberty resident and only want to use the indoor walking track, do not buy an unnecessary full-facility pass before asking about free resident access.

Directions, Transportation & Arrival
