Classes, Registration & Financial Assistance

Basketball sports leaguesOpened October 6, 2026
Community centers, citywide athletics, lifelong recreation and specialized programsDecember 8, 2026

Seattle Parks states that income-qualified households may receive 50%–90% scholarships for eligible recreation activities and childcare. Apply for financial aid before registration when possible so the approved discount is attached to the household account.

Childcare, Camps & Family Programs

Licensed school-age care

Magnolia offers school-age childcare, including before- and after-school programming. Enrollment and fees are handled separately from ordinary drop-in recreation.

Summer camps

Seattle Parks lists Magnolia among its camp locations. The 2026 camp page flags Magnolia’s school-age care camp as using a new location, so confirm the exact camp site in your registration confirmation.

Family activities

Tot Gym serves children age 5 and younger, and the center hosts seasonal community events such as the Spring Egg Hunt, Magnolia Summer Fest, toddler Halloween activities and gingerbread-house decorating.

Room & Gym Rentals: Capacity and 2026 Rates

Seattle Parks lists six Magnolia rental spaces. The hourly price depends on the City’s rental classification, so staff should confirm whether your booking is billed at the Class A or Class C rate.

Do not budget from the hourly rate alone. Seattle’s 2026 fee schedule requires a non-refundable booking fee for rentals, and staffing or equipment charges may apply. It also lists a $250 refundable rental/cleaning deposit for no-alcohol rentals. Alcohol events have separate approval, insurance, fees and deposit requirements.

The City determines the rental classification and final price. For comparison with a Seattle center that offers several meeting rooms and a large gym, see our High Point Community Center rental guide.

How to Reserve a Magnolia Room or Gym

  1. Choose the space. Match your expected attendance and event type to the listed room or gym capacity.
  2. Prepare the event details. Have your preferred date, backup date, start/end time, guest count, activity type and kitchen or equipment needs ready.
  3. Call 206-386-4235. Ask whether the space is available and which City rental classification applies.
  4. Request the full cost. Confirm the hourly charge, booking fee, staffing, equipment, deposit, kitchen minimum and any special permits or insurance.
  5. Complete Seattle Parks paperwork and payment. A phone inquiry does not by itself confirm a reservation.
  6. Keep the agreement. Save the approved setup, cleanup, access and event conditions for the day of your rental.

Magnolia Playfield & Mounger Pool Next Door

Magnolia Community Center sits on Magnolia Playfield. Seattle Parks lists soccer, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, children’s play areas, restrooms and drinking fountains. The playfield’s regular park hours are 4 AM–11:30 PM, which are separate from community-center building hours.

Mounger Pool is also nearby at 2535 32nd Ave W. It is a separate summer-only facility with its own admission, swim lessons and party rentals. As of October 30, 2026, Seattle Parks states that the 2026 Mounger season has concluded.

Swimming tip: do not travel to Magnolia Community Center expecting an indoor pool. Mounger is an outdoor seasonal pool and uses a separate schedule and phone number, 206-684-4708.

Map, Parking & Arrival
