Green Lake Community Center Redevelopment: Is It Closing?

Seattle Parks and Recreation is planning a major redevelopment involving the community center, aquatic center, and play area.

In its March 10, 2026 project update, the City announced that planning, design, and construction work was being resumed.

Existing Center

Still lists regular operating hours and fall 2026 recreation programs.

Future Project

Planning includes community center and aquatic facilities, along with the play area.

The existence of a redevelopment project does not establish a closure date. A final shutdown, temporary relocation, or replacement schedule should only be treated as confirmed when announced by Seattle Parks.
