October 30, 2026 — Nevada Day: The City of Reno has announced a holiday closure for the Evelyn Mount indoor pool. Do not rely on regular building hours for swimming on this date. Check separate announcements if you need access to other areas.

These are building hours, not guaranteed public-swim, pickleball, open-gym or fitness-class times. A court or room may be unavailable during a class, private rental or maintenance.

For visitors planning a pool or gym trip for the first time, our community recreation center hours and admission guide explains how to distinguish facility hours from activity schedules.

Admission Fees & Swimming Prices

The City of Reno publishes drop-in swimming and facility-use prices by age. The following rates are listed for the Labor Day through Memorial Day period, which includes October 2026.

VisitorDrop-In Fee
Child ages 0–2Free
Youth ages 3–17$7
Adult ages 18–59$10
Senior ages 60+$8

The seasonal drop-in rate includes open swim and full-facility use during eligible operating periods. It does not guarantee a reserved lap lane, a class place or unrestricted access to every space.

Summer & Discount Open-Swim Rates

Cost tip: If you plan to visit more than a few times each month, compare the drop-in cost against RecConnect memberships and any household-income discount before paying.

Before Going Swimming

  1. Open the official Reno aquatics page.
  2. Find the fall–spring open-swim or lap-swim schedule, effective August 10, 2026.
  3. Select Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center, rather than Northwest Pool or Moana Springs.
  4. Check the exact swimming time, lane availability and closure notices.
  5. Confirm the correct fee and any required supervision or class registration.
  6. Call 775-334-2262 if your visit depends on a particular session.
Pool access is not the same as building access. The pool can close for instruction, maintenance, safety, holidays or private rentals while other parts of the building remain open.

Pickleball, Basketball & Open Gym

The City of Reno identifies four indoor pickleball courts at Evelyn Mount. Its program information lists open or competitive pickleball sessions, while beginner, open and competitive options are offered across different Reno recreation centers.

The City specifically advises visitors to call because indoor court dates and times vary.

  • Confirm whether courts are available for open play or assigned to a program.
  • Ask whether you need a daily facility fee or membership.
  • Confirm whether paddles and balls are available or whether you should bring equipment.
  • Wear nonmarking athletic shoes appropriate for indoor courts.
  • Ask about league, rental or instructional sessions that may prevent drop-in use.

The gymnasium can also accommodate basketball and other sports, but building opening hours do not guarantee an available court.

Youth Programs, Sierra Kids & Recreation Classes

Evelyn Mount supports youth and teen recreation activities as part of Reno Parks and Recreation. Offerings can include organized sports, fitness activities, recreational classes and seasonal programs.

The City separately offers Sierra Kids, a program for children ages 5–12. It should not be confused with unsupervised child care for adults working out at the center.

Child-care rule: The City states that Evelyn Mount does not provide day care or babysitting services for parents using the recreation facilities. Arrange supervision separately.

How to Find Current Classes

  1. Go to the City’s recreation registration information.
  2. Choose the relevant category: swimming, sports, youth and teens, fitness or adaptive recreation.
  3. Check whether Evelyn Mount is the class location.
  4. Verify age range, dates, class fee and remaining spaces.
  5. Register through the City’s approved online recreation registration system.
  6. Keep the confirmation and check what clothing, identification or equipment is required.

For a comparison of structured youth enrichment, fitness facilities and municipal program registration, the Yes We Can Community Center youth and membership guide covers another public recreation model. Its programs are operated in New York and are not available through the City of Reno.
