How to Register for Other Recreation Classes

The District publishes seasonal classes, activities and events in its Spotlight recreation guide. The exact schedule and location depend on the program.

For other classes and activities, use this process:

  1. Open the official Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District website.
  2. Choose the current activity guide or online registration catalog.
  3. Search for the activity you want and check its location.
  4. Review age requirements, dates, instructor, fee and availability.
  5. Create a registration account if you do not already have one.
  6. Complete registration and payment through the official system.
  7. Save the confirmation and follow any activity-specific instructions.

The District provides priority registration to eligible District residents two days before non-District residents for applicable classes and activities. Fee-waiver assistance is also available in limited numbers for eligible resident families.

How to Rent a Room at Pleasant Hill Community Center

For a wedding, reception, meeting, family celebration or organizational event, the District provides an online Facility Rental Inquiry form.

Important: The online form is an inquiry. The District explicitly states that submitting it does not reserve the venue and is not a contract.
Step 1: Select your room.

Choose the space based on the number of guests, event layout, available equipment and budget. Check the published capacity and minimum rental duration.

Step 2: Determine your rental category.

Identify whether you are applying as a District resident/private renter, nonresident, nonprofit organization or commercial renter. Ask the coordinator which proof is required.

Step 3: Prepare your event details.

Have your requested date, alternate date, expected attendance, event purpose, preferred room and contact information ready.

Step 4: Include setup and cleanup times.

The official inquiry form specifically asks for setup time, event start and end times, and cleanup time. Include the full period you need the room rather than entering only the time guests will attend.

Step 5: Complete the online inquiry.

Submit the required details through the District’s Facility Rental Inquiry form. The form also asks whether alcohol will be served or sold.

Step 6: Contact the rental coordinator.

Call 925-771-7603 or contact the coordinator at 925-771-7639 to discuss the requested date, availability, room configuration and pricing.

Step 7: Obtain written confirmation.

Confirm the current rental agreement, payment schedule, deposit, cancellation policy, permitted event activities and any extra charges. Do not consider the inquiry itself a confirmed booking.

Information requested on the rental form

  • Name, email, address and phone number.
  • Rental classification.
  • Type of event and expected attendance.
  • Preferred venue and requested date.
  • Alternate date and days of the week.
  • Setup time, event time and cleanup time.
  • Whether alcohol will be served or sold.
  • Additional event information.

Alcohol and special event requirements

The current rate sheet lists a $75 alcohol permit fee. The rental form also states that if alcohol is sold, an ABC permit must be obtained. Confirm the District’s approval requirements and applicable California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control rules before planning alcohol service.

For large events, ask whether additional staffing, security, insurance, equipment or special approval is required. Confirm food service, decorations, music, loading access and cleanup arrangements before signing the contract.

Parking, Accessibility & Nearby Location Information

Parking

The center is located on Civic Drive and is surrounded by the District’s community facility setting. The official rate sheet and facility information reviewed do not provide a reliable current parking-space count.

For a wedding, large reception or event with many guests, ask the rental coordinator about:

  • Available guest parking and overflow arrangements.
  • Accessible parking and the most suitable entrance.
  • Loading and unloading for catering or event equipment.
  • Any restrictions on parking during other scheduled activities.

Accessibility and accommodations

Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District has an ADA/Section 504 Coordinator for accessibility questions, accommodation requests and concerns involving District facilities, services and programs.

ADA/Section 504 contact:
Lance Hurtado, ADA/504 Coordinator
Phone: 925-682-0896
Email: lhurtado@pleasanthillrec.com
TTY: California Relay 7-1-1

If you need an accessible entrance, room arrangement, seating, restroom information or another accommodation, contact the District before submitting a final rental agreement.

Nearby outdoor setting

The community center’s open-air patio looks toward Frank Salinger Park. The park and surrounding outdoor setting can be useful for event photographs and outdoor breaks. Confirm separately whether any outdoor area is included in your room rental or requires an additional reservation.

Need a swimming facility?

Pleasant Hill Aquatic Park is a separate District facility at 147 Gregory Lane. It is not inside the Community Center at 320 Civic Drive. Check the Aquatic Park’s own seasonal hours, lessons and admission information if swimming is your main reason for visiting.
