Rental Prices, Deposits and Minimum Hours

The City’s published meeting-room rates, updated October 27, 2025, are shown below. Confirm the final 2026 quote before payment.

Meeting room, regular rate$69 per hour

For example, a qualifying Burien resident booking a meeting room for the two-hour weekday minimum would have a base rental charge of $128, plus the refundable $150 deposit and any other applicable charges. The equivalent regular-rate base is $138.

Banquet hall pricing is different. The City’s 2025 recreation materials described a general rental range of about $64–$129 per hour across room types and event conditions. Do not assume that the $64/$69 meeting-room rate applies to the Seahurst Banquet Hall. Obtain an individual written quote for the hall.

Ask staff whether staffing, event equipment, additional setup, insurance or after-hours requirements create separate costs.

Alcohol, Insurance and Rental Documents

The City permits certain alcoholic beverages for qualifying approved events, but renters must comply with the venue’s restrictions and Washington State licensing requirements.

  • Permitted beverage categories are limited to beer, wine and champagne under the published facility rules.
  • Private parties serving alcohol must supply the required insurance and banquet permit.
  • Nonprofit events serving alcohol must supply insurance and the applicable special-occasion license.
  • The City requests the required documentation at least two weeks before the event.
  • Approval and permit requirements should be confirmed before purchasing event supplies or advertising alcohol service.
Important: A room reservation alone is not permission to serve alcohol. The City must confirm which event uses and permit conditions apply.

For a gathering with children, food service, vendors, decorations or music, ask for the full facility rental agreement before paying.

How to Book Burien Community Center: Step by Step

  1. Select your event type. Decide whether you’re organizing a birthday party, wedding reception, training, club meeting, community activity or banquet.
  2. Estimate attendance. Choose a space appropriate for your guest count: a smaller room for meetings or the Seahurst Banquet Hall for larger events.
  3. Pick dates and times. Include setup and cleanup. Minimum rental periods differ between weekdays and weekends.
  4. Contact the Community Center. Call 206-988-3700 or email parksinfo@burienwa.gov and ask whether your preferred room is available.
  5. Request a complete quote. Ask about resident pricing, deposit, minimum hours, staffing, furniture, cancellation rules and additional services.
  6. Discuss permits before booking. If food service, alcohol, vendors or special equipment will be involved, request the City’s applicable conditions.
  7. Complete the reservation documents. Follow the City’s approved booking instructions and submit the required deposit or payment.
  8. Keep written approval. Save the agreement and confirm the date, room, arrival time, guest capacity and cleanup deadline.

Park Rentals vs. Community Center Rentals

The Burien Community Center can also help visitors with park and field rental information. These are separate from indoor meeting-room reservations.

Seahurst Park picnic shelterOutdoor shelter bookings use a separate reservation process and price schedule.
Athletic fieldBurien manages designated fields at locations such as Moshier Memorial Park and Chelsea Park.

Seahurst Park Shelter Pricing

The City’s current shelter information lists a full-day rate of $160 standard or $135 with the Burien resident discount, for the designated rental period from 9 AM until dusk.

This price is for an outdoor shelter at Seahurst Park, not a community center banquet hall.

Special park event: Burien requires Park Use Agreement inquiries at least 14 business days in advance for qualifying activities. The posted agreement fee is $100, and required staffing can cost $50 per hour with a two-hour minimum.

Arts, Exhibitions and Cultural Activities

Burien Community Center is also used for local cultural programming. Burien Arts has hosted rotating exhibits by regional artists on its community arts wall.

Exhibitions can generally be viewed during normal building access hours, with some openings accompanied by artist talks or receptions.

For example, Burien Arts featured painter and pastel artist Ruth de Kok in a June–September 2026 exhibit. That exhibition period has ended, but it illustrates the type of cultural activity visitors can encounter at the center.

Check current exhibit dates before planning a trip specifically to see artwork.
