Greece Community Center Hours

The Town publishes the following regular Labor Day through Memorial Day schedule.

DayRegular winter-season hours
Monday7:00 AM–8:00 PM

Summer hours: June through August

Local service listings identify the summer schedule as Monday–Thursday 7 AM–7 PM, Friday 7 AM–5 PM and Saturday 7 AM–1 PM. Because the Town’s main facility page prominently lists the winter schedule, confirm summer Sunday hours before traveling.

October visitor note: October falls within the Town’s published Labor Day–Memorial Day season. The normal Monday–Thursday closing time is therefore 8 PM unless a holiday or special closure applies.

Holiday closures are announced throughout the year rather than covered by one complete, current day-by-day list on the facility page. Call 585-723-2425 before making a holiday or weather-sensitive visit.

Facilities Inside The Center

The expanded recreation complex contains more than 60,000 square feet of community and fitness space. The Town describes the following primary amenities.

Indoor Walking TrackAn expanded indoor track with a total walking length of approximately one-fifth of a mile.
Wellness CenterCardio and resistance equipment for qualified monthly members.
Dedicated Cycling RoomIndoor cycling equipment and scheduled instructor-led or virtual classes.
GymnasiumApproximately 7,800 square feet according to Town visitor materials; used for sports and programs.
Toddler GymSoft play and interactive equipment for children ages 0–5.
Activity RoomsSpaces used for classes, cards, crafts, recreation programs and community gatherings.

Walking track and fitness access

The Center’s expansion included an additional 970 feet of walking track, bringing the combined indoor walking route to approximately 1/5 mile. Five complete laps of a 1/5-mile route equal approximately one mile; actual distance depends on the marked route you follow.

The Wellness Center includes cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, along with dedicated cycling space. Residents must purchase the age-appropriate Wellness Center Membership to use equipment governed by that membership.

For visitors comparing indoor walking and recreation facilities, the Shakopee Community Center guide explains another municipal track-and-gym model, including how that facility distinguishes track-only use from other paid activities.

Toddler Gym: Ages, Rules & What to Bring

The dedicated Toddler Gym is designed for children birth through age 5. It has soft play equipment, interactive features and a restroom within the room.

  4. Bring socks for the toddler and accompanying adult.

Fitness Classes, Recreation Programs & Events

Greece Parks and Recreation publishes seasonal programs through its STRIVE activity guide and online registration system.

Program categories include:

  • Group fitness, indoor cycling and general exercise classes
  • Youth recreation, crafts and enrichment activities
  • Pickleball and other sports or gym programs
  • Card games, bingo and social activities
  • Senior fitness, wellness and educational sessions
  • Day trips, special events and seasonal celebrations

How to find a current program

  1. Visit the official Recreation Division page.
  2. Open the latest STRIVE activity guide or fitness brochure.
  3. Select the appropriate age group or activity category.
  4. Check the exact session dates, meeting times and any minimum age or ability requirement.
  5. Identify whether the program requires a Basic Membership, fitness credits or a separate registration fee.
  6. Check whether enrollment is open in Greece RecDesk.
  7. Register and pay any required program fees.
  8. Save your confirmation and any instructions about clothing, materials or arrival times.

Session prices and dates change. An older brochure may explain an activity but should not be used to assume it remains available in October 2026.

Senior Programs: Activities, Lunches & Transportation

The Center provides programs directed toward adults age 50 and older, while some transportation and nutrition benefits have different age-related rules.

Senior offerings include recreation, wellness, social and educational activities, plus transportation coordination and the Luncheon Friends nutrition program.

Luncheon Friends: Senior meal prices

ParticipantPublished amount
Age 60+ and spouse$3.50 suggested contribution
Under age 60$7.50 meal cost

The program is administered by the Monroe County Office for the Aging. Meals are planned to provide a substantial share of daily nutritional requirements for older adults.

How to reserve a senior lunch

  1. Call the Center at 585-723-2425 or visit the front desk.
  2. Ask for the monthly Luncheon Friends menu and the available lunch dates.
  3. Choose the date you want to attend.
  4. Reserve approximately two weeks in advance when possible.
  5. For late reservations, contact the Center no later than 10 AM on the day before the meal.
  6. If you need to cancel, notify the Center by 10 AM the previous day.
  7. Confirm any eligibility, meal-cost or participation questions with program staff.
Same-day or short-notice meals may occasionally be possible, but availability is not guaranteed. A suggested contribution is not the same as a mandatory flat fee for every eligible senior.

The Town partners with Medical Motors to help eligible older Greece residents travel to The Center.

For comparison with another New York municipality providing older-adult recreation and community services, see the Yes We Can Community Center membership and senior-program guide. Its eligibility, fees and operator are different from those in Greece.

Pickleball, Gym Activities & Splash Park

The Center and surrounding Town campus provide several recreation opportunities, but not every activity follows the same access rules.

Pickleball

The Town’s membership and registration portal includes a Pickleball Punch Pass category. Check the active drop-in program, court location, number of visits and pass eligibility before purchasing.

Gymnasium

The approximately 7,800-square-foot gymnasium supports organized recreation, classes and events. Open play depends on the scheduled activity and available space.

Wild Over Water Zone

The seasonal Wild Over Water Zone is an outdoor splash feature associated with the Town campus. It is not an indoor swimming pool or year-round aquatic center.

Basic resident membership can provide eligible access, while non-resident basic visit passes explicitly exclude the splash zone. Check summer dates, weather closures and admission rules separately.

Greece Community Center Rentals & Meeting Rooms

If you want to rent event space, the first step is identifying whether you need a room inside The Center, a Town Hall community room, or a park lodge or pavilion.

The Town’s online Parks and Recreation portal lists community center facilities, lodge rentals, open shelters and other reservable spaces. Rates and eligibility vary by location.

Recreation FacilityAsk The Center about rooms suitable for classes, group activities or approved gatherings.
Town Hall Community RoomsSeparate meeting spaces made available for qualifying Greece community and nonprofit groups.
Park Lodges & SheltersOutdoor or park-related rentals listed through the Town’s recreation reservation system.

Town Hall room reservation program

The Town announced free community meeting space at Town Hall for qualifying Greece-based nonprofits, neighborhood groups and civic associations.

This is not a universal free private-party rental and does not automatically apply to The Center’s indoor activity rooms.

For the official Town Hall program:

  1. Visit the Town of Greece Room Reservations page.
  2. Check whether your organization meets the community-group eligibility requirements.
  3. Download the official Room Reservation Form.
  4. Enter the organization, event purpose, dates, times and contact details.
  5. Submit the completed form using the email instructions on that page.
  6. Wait for Town approval before advertising the meeting as confirmed.

Town Hall reservation phone: 585-225-2000. This is separate from The Center’s main desk at 585-723-2425.

How to inquire about a rental at The Center

  1. Choose your event type: meeting, birthday gathering, group activity, sports booking or program.
  2. Estimate attendance, preferred date, duration and required equipment.
  3. Call The Center at 585-723-2425.
  4. Ask which room or gym space is available for that activity.
  5. Request the current rate, capacity, residency rules and required forms.
  6. Confirm food, setup, cleanup, deposits, cancellations and insurance if applicable.
  7. Complete any reservation through the Town’s approved system.
  8. Keep the booking confirmation and instructions for entry and setup.
Rental price verification: A current, complete fee table for every room inside The Center was not confirmed in the official pages reviewed. Do not assume the Town Hall nonprofit-room program, lodge prices or old event rates apply to an indoor Community Center rental. Request a written quote.

If you are comparing facilities for events and need to understand how a center separates rooms, programs and memberships, our Newtown Community Center rental and visitor guide provides another municipal example with different policies and availability.
