Swimming Pools: Reservations, Lessons and What to Bring
SPCC has a 25-yard main pool and a heated therapy pool. The main pool supports lap swimming and lessons, while the therapy pool supports water-based wellness and exercise activities. Program access depends on reservations and scheduled sessions.
Six-lane pool used for swimming programs, training, lessons and scheduled lap/open swim.
Used for therapeutic water exercise, wellness and other scheduled aquatic activities.
How to book a pool visit
- Pick the exact activity. Decide whether you need open swim, lap swim, swim lessons, aquatic exercise or a therapy pool session.
- Check available sessions. Pool schedules determine which activities are operating and how much space is available.
- Choose a single-visit or multi-visit pass. The center requires applicable pool passes and reservations. Individual passes cannot simply be shared with other people.
- First-time visitors: establish your account. Go to the front desk to set up your EZFacility account and complete the one-time waiver.
- Reserve your preferred session. Use your EZFacility individual portal or ask front desk staff. Reservations may be made up to two weeks ahead.
- Arrive ready for check-in. Bring swimwear, towel, goggles if desired, and the information needed to identify your reservation.

Pool practical checklist
- Confirm whether your session is recreational swimming or instruction.
- Book before traveling rather than assuming walk-in space exists.
- Check that your pass covers the activity and people attending.
- Bring a towel, swimwear, any necessary personal supplies and dry clothing.
- Use the designated locker rooms near the main and therapy pool areas.
- Allow time to change before your scheduled session.
Pickleball, Basketball and Indoor Recreation
The community center has a multipurpose gymnasium and offers drop-in sports, fitness and group activities. Exact open-play periods change when programs, private events or other uses occupy the facility.
Pickleball
SPCC publishes drop-in pickleball options, individual plays and multi-play passes. Its posted pricing lists $11 for standard drop-in play and $9 for Park Perks patrons. A 15-play pass is also available.
Reservations are not required for ordinary listed drop-in pickleball, but the schedule should be checked first. When a court booking is needed, SPCC uses EZFacility rather than PlayTime.
Check pickleball times and rules
Basketball
Drop-in basketball is among the center’s recreational offerings. Before visiting, check the designated open-hoops period, current fee, age rules and whether the court is reserved for another activity.
Children’s Programs, Dance and Classes
Families visiting from Severna Park, Arnold, Pasadena, Millersville and nearby communities can explore several program types without joining a traditional membership club.
| Program | Good fit for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Swim lessons | Children and adults learning water skills | Age, swim level, instructor, registration and session dates |
| Dance | Young dancers, teens and adults | Class style, age group, seasonal tuition and clothing |
| Youth camps | Children needing structured activities during school breaks | Dates, ages, supervision, hours, pickup and forms |
| Group fitness | Adults and eligible youth | Class intensity, age rules, registration and equipment |
| Water wellness | Participants seeking guided low-impact aquatic activity | Suitable session, reservation, fee and any health-related requirements |
Before registering a child
- Match the child to the stated program age bracket and skill level.
- Read the complete session dates rather than assuming enrollment is ongoing.
- Ask whether a parent must remain on site or participate.
- Confirm cancellation, makeup, refund and pickup policies.
- Save the registration confirmation and any required forms.

How to request a rental
- Choose the activity and room. A small meeting, family celebration and large event may require different spaces.
- Write down the details. Have preferred date, alternative dates, start/end times, estimated guests and seating style ready.
- Allow time for setup and cleanup. Both must fit inside the reserved rental period.
- Review included services. The center offers tables/chairs setup, custodial assistance and front desk support, subject to the arrangement.
- Submit an official inquiry. Use the rental page’s inquiry form or email the center’s rental contact.
- Confirm the quote and rules. Ask about deposits, cancellations, food, decorations, alcohol, accessibility and any required insurance.
- Wait for final approval. Do not treat an inquiry or an open calendar slot as a confirmed booking.
