General and rental hours are published in the City of Mukilteo’s Rosehill rental packet. Evening rental access requires an approved reservation and does not mean the building is open for unrestricted public recreation at those times.

Holiday rule: Rosehill’s published facility materials state that the center closes on federal holidays. Scheduled programs and private events can also affect access.

Before a Same-Day Visit

  • For fitness, check the facility’s regular operating period.
  • For playland visits, verify the 9 AM–4 PM activity schedule and holiday restrictions.
  • For classes, use the program’s actual start and end time.
  • For evening rentals, follow your approved rental agreement, not the main building closing time.

Indoor Playland & Fitness Center Prices

Rosehill publishes separate rates for its indoor playland and fitness center. A playland purchase does not automatically include gym access, and a fitness pass should not be treated as a general admission ticket for every program.

Indoor Playland

$10 drop-in

Monthly family access: $20.

The City describes the monthly playland option as covering multiple children in the household for one flat monthly price.

Published hours: Daily, 9 AM–4 PM, subject to general facility closures.

The playland is downstairs and designed for younger children to play and socialize.

Fitness Center

$10 drop-in

Standard monthly membership: $30.

Membership for ages 55+: $25/month.

The fitness area has a listed maximum occupancy of 22 people and windows facing Puget Sound.

Access: General facility hours, subject to capacity and operating exceptions.

Activities for different ages

Rosehill Programs, Classes & 55+ Activities

City of Mukilteo Recreation and Cultural Services runs youth, adult, wellness, arts and older-adult activities. Classes can be seasonal or limited to specific dates; being open as a building does not guarantee that a particular class is running.

Check: age, start date, supplies, drop-off arrangement, class fee and registration availability.

Adult Enrichment

Programs include line dancing, ballroom dance, yoga, fitness, arts and practical safety workshops.

Check: session price, skill level, dates and whether registration is mandatory.

55+ Social Activities

Small celebrations & business meetings

Rosehill Community Center Room Rentals

The smaller rooms are Vancouver, Frost, Fowler and Christiansen. They are suitable for meetings, birthday gatherings, workshops, showers and smaller community events.

City rental information lists the smaller rooms as accommodating approximately 1–40 people. The available furniture is described as five 60-inch round tables, six rectangular tables, 40 chairs and an 85-inch display in the updated webpage description.

Small Event Room Pricing

RoomWeekday webpage rateWeekend webpage rate
Vancouver$34/hour$64/hour
Frost$34/hour$64/hour
Fowler$34/hour$64/hour
Christiansen$40/hour$76/hour

These are the rates displayed on the main City rental webpage when researched. The City also has a dated PDF packet with a different time-of-day pricing structure, so the quote issued for your specific date takes precedence.

Different Rates in the City’s April 2025 PDF

Time periodVancouver / Frost / FowlerChristiansen
Weekday daytime, 8 AM–5 PM$40/hour$48/hour
Mon–Thu evening$55/hour$64/hour
Weekend rate, including Friday after 5 PM$75/hour$90/hour

The 2025 small-event packet also specifies a four-hour minimum, $100 security deposit and $100 alcohol fee. Do not assume those amounts still apply to every new reservation without confirming the current contract.

Important rate discrepancy: The City website and its older downloadable rental documents do not fully agree. Ask Rosehill staff to confirm the correct rate schedule, minimum reservation length, security deposit and additional fees before calculating your final event budget.

Which Room Should You Choose?

Business meeting or workshop

Start with Vancouver, Frost or Fowler. Confirm display availability, seating layout, power requirements and reservation duration.

Birthday or family celebration

Ask about Christiansen or another smaller room. Confirm whether food, decorating, setup and cleanup fit the booking period.

Small Room Reservation Rules

For a single room and single-day event, the current City webpage describes a rolling 120-day booking window, with online booking available subject to vacancies.

Multi-room, multi-day, exclusive-use and other complex reservations require coordination with City staff rather than a standard online reservation.

Reservation workflow

How to Rent Space at Rosehill Community Center

1
Select the event space. For up to roughly 40 guests, consider a smaller room. For large gatherings, weddings or formal receptions, start with Point Elliott.
2
Prepare your event requirements. List your date, backup date, attendance, event purpose, food plan, audiovisual needs, setup and cleanup time.
3
Check the booking window. Single-day small-room reservations may use the rolling 120-day schedule. Point Elliott and complex bookings have different arrangements.
4
Request the current quote. Clarify whether the City’s webpage or downloadable rental packet governs your booking, and request the deposit and required fees in writing.
5
Complete the application. Follow the reservation process for the chosen space. Complex events go through Recreation and Cultural Services staff.
6
Meet insurance or permit conditions. Public events, alcohol service and some higher-risk events may require insurance or government authorization.
7
Pay and retain confirmation. Keep your signed agreement, payment record, approved time block and event-specific policies.
Rental assistance: Call 425-263-8180 or email rosehill@mukilteowa.gov with your room, date and guest count.

  • Food trucks, grilling and outdoor cooking are prohibited.
  • Battery-operated candles may be used.

  • Deliveries must occur during the rental time.
  • The renter is responsible for guests and children’s supervision.

Alcohol, Permits & Insurance

  • The published packet requires a Washington State banquet permit for alcohol service.
  • It permits beer, wine and champagne under its stated conditions; hard liquor is prohibited.
  • Insurance may be required for events open to the public, alcohol service and high-risk activities.
  • One packet’s insurance requirements specify $2 million general aggregate and $1 million per occurrence, with the City additionally insured.
  • The rental holder should obtain staff approval before committing to vendors, insurance purchases or an alcohol-service plan.
