If you are trying to decide whether you need a gym schedule, pool schedule or program registration rather than general building hours, our community recreation center planning guide explains how to check each activity separately and avoid unnecessary trips.

Indoor Pool Reopened October 19, 2026

The swimming pool is one of Randallstown Community Center’s most important amenities. It reopened under Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks management after the Y in Central Maryland ended its operational arrangement in August 2026.

The indoor facility features a 25-yard, six-lane swimming pool, with water depths ranging approximately from four to ten feet. Changing facilities are available for men, women and families.

Current status: The pool reopened at 6 AM on Monday, October 19, 2026. Baltimore County is operating a lower-cost aquatics pilot through at least the end of December 2026.

The current aquatics pilot features different operating blocks for public swim, lap swim and scheduled programming. The county has not established one permanent, universal daily swimming schedule for every activity. Confirm the precise session times before leaving.

Programs and available lanes may change as the county expands staffing and its aquatic class offerings.

Do not follow old YMCA hours: Older search results and YMCA pages still show schedules from before August 31, 2026. Those times should not be used for the county-operated pool.

2026 Swimming Fees & Monthly Memberships

Baltimore County introduced a discounted pilot pricing structure for the Randallstown and Dundalk community pools.

Admission TypePublished Pilot Price
Individual daily admissionApproximately $3–$4, depending on age category
Family daily admission$8 for a family of up to four people
Individual monthly membershipApproximately $10–$15, depending on age category
Family monthly membership$27 for up to four family members

Discounted categories include children aged 12 and younger and adults aged 60 and older.

A monthly membership provides access to both the Randallstown and Dundalk pools during their respective operating hours. The pilot membership also includes available aquatic classes under the announced program arrangement.

Practical comparison: A family visiting twice would spend $16 at the published $8 family daily rate, while a $27 monthly family membership may offer better value with more frequent visits. Compare the current terms before purchasing.

For an example of a larger indoor aquatic facility with pool-specific access rules, our Bob Crane Community Center pool and membership guide explains why admission, open swimming and structured pool activities must be checked separately.

Pool Rules & What to Bring

Swimming access is supervised by trained staff. Baltimore County has announced that at least two lifeguards will be on duty during operations.

For a comfortable first swim, prepare:

  • Appropriate swimming clothes
  • Towel and shower supplies
  • Change of clothes
  • Approved footwear for changing areas
  • Required payment or membership details
  • Any medical or accessibility information relevant to your visit
  • Parent or guardian supervision for children

Ask the aquatics desk about flotation devices, swim tests, locker availability, age-specific supervision, pool depth restrictions and permitted equipment.

Families with young swimmers should confirm whether their preferred session is recreational swim or lap swim. They are not interchangeable.

Gym, Fitness, Walking Track & Other Amenities

Randallstown Community Center opened in 2009. The approximately 57,175-square-foot facility was designed as an all-ages recreation and community gathering space.

Basketball Gymnasium

Indoor basketball space is used for open recreation, organized activities, youth sports and approved rentals. Court availability depends on programming.

Indoor Walking Track

An indoor walking or jogging track provides space for low-impact fitness and recreational exercise. Check current public-use periods.

Computer Learning Center

A technology learning area is listed among the facility’s spaces. Availability may be tied to scheduled educational or community programs.

Performance Auditorium

An auditorium and performance stage support community presentations, meetings, programs and approved events.

Meeting & Activity Rooms

Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 and a separate activity room are listed as available facility areas.

Indoor Aquatics

A six-lane swimming pool operates under a separate county aquatics schedule, with changing facilities and lifeguard coverage.

The gymnasium includes spaces designed for basketball and volleyball, while the athletic portion of the building also supports exercise activities.

Do not assume all amenities are unrestricted drop-in facilities. Activities such as computer learning, private court use, performances and group classes may require a reservation or scheduled program.

Programs for Children, Adults & Seniors

Baltimore County Recreation and Parks and local recreation organizations use Randallstown Community Center for various community activities.

Rental Food Rules & Event Planning

Baltimore County publishes the following food restrictions in the Randallstown rental information:

  • No open flames
  • Restrictions on cooking equipment
  • Food vendors and food trucks require advance approval
  • Food must be store-bought or catered rather than homemade
  • No renter kitchen or kitchenette is provided

If you are organizing a birthday party, community meeting, fundraiser, presentation or small event, confirm whether your intended use is permitted before paying.

How to Request a Rental

Step 1 — Select the right room

Choose the activity room, gym, meeting room or stage based on your guest count and event format.

Step 2 — Prepare event details

Have the proposed date, alternate date, number of guests, start/end times, setup plan and any equipment requirements ready.

Step 3 — Check availability

Use the Randallstown Community Center facility directory or county reservation system.

Step 4 — Contact the center

Call 410-887-0698 for assistance with rooms, permitted activities, staffing, audiovisual equipment and rental policies.

Step 5 — Request an itemized estimate

Confirm the hourly rate, minimum hours, fees, deposits, cancellation terms, setup time and staffing costs.

Step 6 — Complete official approval

Follow the county’s authorized application, reservation and payment process. Keep written confirmation before announcing the event.

Rental pricing: Baltimore County has a countywide recreation fee schedule with different charges for nonprofit, for-profit and other approved uses. A final 2026 quotation for your specific Randallstown room was not independently confirmed. Ask for the current room-specific price before paying.

Walking Track, Fitness & Drop-In Access

The indoor walking track is useful for visitors looking for an alternative to outdoor walking in unfavorable weather. However, the precise public-access times and any current registration conditions should be confirmed with the front desk.

For gym use, ask:

  • Is today’s session an open-gym period?
  • Is the basketball court shared with another activity?
  • Is pickleball running, and are nets provided?
  • Are youth permitted without an accompanying adult?
  • Does the activity require advance registration?
  • Is admission free or subject to a program fee?

A building being open does not guarantee that a gym, track or specific classroom is available at that moment.

For an example of another municipal center with an indoor pool, elevated walking track and fitness membership options, see the Harrisonville Community Center pool and gym guide.
