Montlake Pickleball, Basketball & Gym Access

Adult pickleball

Fall 2026: Tuesday 2–4:30 PM and Saturday 11 AM–1 PM, ages 18+. Confirm whether nets and balls are provided and ask about court rotation or attendance limits.

Basketball

Adult sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday, with a youth session on Friday. The gym also hosts family and youth open-gym sessions.

Volleyball and dodgeball

Adult volleyball is scheduled Thursday evenings and adult dodgeball Tuesday evenings during the current fall season.

Family and toddler use

Family open gym welcomes multiple ages. Tot Gym is designed for children age 5 and younger. Ask about supervision and equipment rules before arrival.

No guaranteed walk-in court: Scheduled programs, rentals and gym setup may affect space. Call first if you need a court or are traveling with a group.

Childcare, Camps, Arts & Pottery

Montlake offers more than indoor sports. Seattle Parks lists licensed childcare, summer camps, art activities, teen programs, indoor toddler playtime, lifelong recreation and specialized programs among its services.

Licensed childcare

Ask the center for current eligibility, age requirements, available spaces, school-day coverage and waitlist procedures.

Summer camps

The 2026 City brochure included themed adventure camps and other youth recreation opportunities. Offerings depend on age and seasonal availability.

Pottery and art studio

The Roger Peter Tudor Building across from the main center has an active pottery studio used for classes and scheduled drop-in activities.

The 2026 summer camp brochure included programs for children ages 5–7, with several half-day sessions priced at $295 for five-day weeks and $236 for one four-day week. These were summer 2026 examples, not current fall offerings or future guaranteed rates.

Registration tip: Pottery studio use, art classes, camps and licensed childcare may have separate registration, safety, supervision and material requirements. Do not assume the studio is freely open whenever the center is open.

2026 Montlake Rental Rates

Seattle Parks’ published 2026 fee schedule uses Class A and Class C rate categories. These are City-wide hourly rates for eligible rooms and gyms; the final Montlake quote depends on the approved rental classification, actual room size, type of use and additional fees.

Rental categoryClass AClass C
Small room, 1–400 sq ft$37/hr$52/hr
Medium room, 401–1,500 sq ft$46/hr$65/hr

Small gym, nonathletic use$64/hr$96/hr
Large gym, athletic use$62/hr$94/hr
Large gym, nonathletic use$112/hr$166/hr
Important: Do not automatically treat the Montlake gym as a small or large gym for pricing. The City rental directory lists its capacity but does not establish the billing classification in the room table. Have staff confirm the correct rate before budgeting.

Additional costs to consider

  • Nonrefundable booking fee per rental site.
  • Staffing charges, which can be higher on holidays.
  • Equipment and additional services, if required.
  • Refundable rental/cleaning deposit: the City schedule lists $250 for events without alcohol.
  • Events with approved alcohol have additional rules, charges, insurance requirements and potentially a $500 refundable damage deposit.
  • Charges involving admissions, sales or concessions may trigger additional percentage-of-sales requirements.

Seattle’s schedule also allows maintenance charges depending on event size and type. Obtain a written, itemized quote before making payment.
