Step 1 — Find your program

Open the current MCC class calendar. Select the activity that matches the participant’s age, ability, schedule and interests.

Step 2 — Note the activity number

Read the description and record the activity number, class dates, full price, resident price and any materials requirements.

Step 3 — Check your tax-district status

Determine whether you qualify for the MCC district-resident rate. Having a McLean postal address does not automatically establish eligibility.

Step 4 — Choose the registration method

Use the Register link on MCC’s website, mail the official registration form, or register at the center.

Step 5 — Make payment

Complete payment through MCC’s authorized system or by an accepted method described on the official registration instructions.

Step 6 — Check confirmation

Save your receipt and verify the location, dates and materials list. If the class fills, ask about the waitlist.

Senior discount: MCC’s published registration policy provides a 10% discount to participants age 60+ on eligible classes priced at $50 or more, except where noted. Confirm the discount on the activity listing.

For a cancellation or refund request, the published procedure directs requests in writing to refunds@mcleancenter.org. The applicable deadlines and deductions depend on MCC’s refund policy.

MCC Tax District: Who Gets Local Rates?

Category 4

Nonlocal individuals and organizations that do not qualify for another designated category.

Category 2 eligibility has specific nonprofit and membership rules, including local tax-district representation. Category 5 concerns qualifying community performing-arts organizations and special rehearsal provisions.

Which Room Should You Rent?

Community Hall

3,000 sq ft, with sections that can be used individually or together. Suitable for meetings, receptions and larger community events. MCC advertises theater-style seating for up to 250 across its rental facilities.

Smaller Rooms

Maffitt, McLean, Stedman and Swinson rooms offer alternatives for meetings, workshops, planning sessions or smaller gatherings.

Creative Spaces

DuVal Studio and Rehearsal Hall are suited to activities needing specialized creative or rehearsal space, subject to use approval.

A commercial kitchen and multimedia equipment are among MCC’s rental amenities. Verify what is included in your specific room, as well as audiovisual charges, furniture, food policies and setup arrangements.

Capacity is not square footage: Ask the booking manager for the exact permitted occupancy for your seating layout. A classroom setup, seated meal and theater-style event can have different capacities.

How to Book an MCC Room

  1. Choose the event type: business meeting, private celebration, community meeting, rehearsal or reception.
  2. Prepare your event details: preferred date, backup date, start/end times, guest count, room choice, food requirements and equipment needs.
  3. Determine your booking category: local private, nonlocal, government or qualifying community organization.
  4. Open the MCC Preliminary Booking Form: enter your personal or organization details, event purpose, requested date and times.
  5. Request a quote: ask staff to confirm the rental category, hourly cost, minimum hours, staffing, insurance, payment and cancellation requirements.
  6. Await approval: a preliminary request is not a confirmed reservation. Complete any subsequent agreement and official payment instructions.
