Liberty Community Center Pools and Swimming

Liberty Community Center has two indoor pools and two seasonal outdoor pools. Indoor swimming operates year-round according to the published aquatics schedule, while the outdoor facilities follow a limited summer season.

What to know about the fall pool schedule

Pool hours differ from the facility’s opening hours. The fall schedule determines when lanes are available for lap swimming, when recreational open swim is offered, and when the pools are reserved for water fitness, lessons or other programs.

Indoor pools remained available following the September annual maintenance week. However, the older spring and summer pool schedules should not be used to infer a specific October lap-swim hour.

Swimming activityWhat to confirm
Lap swimmingLane availability, shared lanes and current fall time blocks.
Open swimFamily recreation hours and which pool is open.
Swimming lessonsAge, level, class enrollment and location.
Water exerciseInstructor, daily class time and whether a separate registration is needed.
Outdoor swimmingClosed for the 2026 season; watch for the next summer schedule.

Pool safety and preparation

  • Follow lifeguard instructions and posted pool rules.
  • Use locker rooms to enter the pool areas.
  • Shower before entering pools, spa or sauna.
  • Do not run on the pool deck.
  • Do not distract lifeguards.
  • Do not photograph or record swimmers where prohibited.
  • Children using the slide must meet its age and height requirements; the published rules state at least age 4 and 40 inches tall.
  • Bring a swimsuit, towel and any required swim supplies.

How to check pool hours before visiting

  1. Open the City of Liberty Community Center website.
  2. Find the aquatics or pool schedule link.
  3. Select the current fall schedule rather than an older seasonal PDF.
  4. Look for the specific pool and activity you need.
  5. Check the date, lane availability and any closures.
  6. Call 816-439-4360 if your visit depends on a particular swimming session.

The orientation determines which areas and equipment a child may use, and whether direct adult supervision is required.

To arrange an orientation, call 816-439-4360.

How to register for a recreation activity

  1. Choose the activity category, age group and preferred season.
  2. Review the exact class or league description, dates, location and costs.
