Quick answer for visitors: regular KBCC membership is limited to Key Biscayne residents and Village employees. A nonresident can use the center as a guest when accompanied by an eligible resident member, registers at the front desk and buys the applicable guest pass. Guest visits are limited under the Village policy.

Information checked October 30, 2026. Program schedules, holiday hours and CPI-adjusted membership fees can change.

Hours: Building, Pool, Game Room & Playground

Do not rely on the building hours alone. The pool, game room and indoor playground use their own schedules, and the basketball gym can be limited by camps or programs.

Area Monday–Friday Saturday–Sunday
Community Center / Fitness Center 6:00 AM–10:00 PM 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
25-yard pool 6:15 AM–8:45 PM 8:15 AM–7:45 PM

Basketball Gym 6:00 AM–10:00 PM 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
Pool lane note: classes and special programs can reduce lane availability. The Village says at least one swim lane remains available and no more than two swimmers may share an open lane.

If this is your first municipal recreation visit, our community recreation center planning guide explains why pool, gym and class schedules should be checked separately from general building hours.

Who Can Join, and How Guest Access Works

Residents & Village employees

Regular Community Center membership is limited to Key Biscayne residents and employees of the Village of Key Biscayne. Residents may also buy a daily membership instead of a monthly or annual plan.

Nonresident guests

A guest must arrive with a resident who has a yearly, monthly or daily membership, register at the front desk and buy a guest pass. A member can normally bring up to two guests per day.

  • A guest may visit a maximum of 12 times per calendar year.
  • Guest passes are non-refundable.
  • A guest may register for a class or activity if space is available on the day of the class.
  • The resident member is responsible for guest conduct and supervision of children.

If you are not eligible for KBCC membership and want another municipal gym/fitness option in Miami-Dade, the Scott Galvin Community Center visitor guide covers North Miami’s published resident and nonresident access options.

Membership Fees

The Village membership page currently lists the following fees as effective October 1, 2025. The Village also says fees are subject to annual CPI-U adjustments, so confirm the amount at the front desk before paying.

Category Resident Daily Guest Daily Monthly Annual
Adult, 26–64$10$14$76$380
Youth, 10–18$7$10$33$165
Senior, 65+$7$10$44$220
Student, 19–25$8$11$55$275
Couple——$114$569
Senior Couple, both 65+——$66$330
Family, up to 4——$152$759

A family membership covers up to four people with no more than two adults living together. For annual family memberships, additional eligible family members may be added at 50% off. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.

How to Become a Member: Documents & Payment

Membership is not just a payment step. The front desk must verify identity and Key Biscayne residency.

1 Get the application

Open the official membership page and download the current KBCC Membership Application shown there.

2 Bring photo ID

A driver’s license or passport is listed as acceptable photo identification.

3 Bring residency proof

Use an accepted current document such as a utility bill, vehicle registration, property tax bill/deed or IRS certificate/letter.

4 Do not rely on a lease

The Village specifically says leases are not accepted as proof of Key Biscayne residency.

5 Choose the plan

Confirm your age/category, current rate and whether daily, monthly or annual membership best fits your use.

6 Pay at KBCC

The official page lists cash, credit card and Apple Pay. Checks are not accepted.

Pool, Fitness Center, Gym & Family Amenities

25-yard pool

Lap swimming operates on a separate schedule. Classes can reduce lane availability, so check before a trip built around swimming.

Fitness Center

Cardio and strength-training space is available to members and guests age 16 and older.

Basketball Gym

The gym follows general center hours but access may be restricted during camps and scheduled programs.

Indoor Playground

Separate afternoon/weekend schedule. Children under 10 must be accompanied and supervised.

Game / Teen Room

Also uses an afternoon/weekend schedule, including an earlier 2 PM opening on Wednesdays.

Studios & Activity Rooms

Dance/aerobics studios, arts and crafts room with kiln, computer lab, toddler room and multipurpose rooms are listed amenities.

Underground parking: the Village lists an underground parking garage as a Community Center amenity. For large events or accessibility needs, ask the front desk about the best entrance and current parking arrangements.

Children & Teen Rules That Prevent a Wasted Trip

  • Children age 10 and older may enter using their membership ID card.
  • Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult age 16 or older, unless enrolled in and attending a program.
  • The fitness center is restricted to members and guests age 16+.
  • Children under 10 using the game room, indoor playground or basketball gym must be accompanied and supervised.
  • Activity-appropriate footwear is required in gym and dance areas.

Youth, Adult & Senior Programs: How Registration Works

Current Village pages say only Key Biscayne residents may register for KBCC youth/teen and adult programs, and KBCC members receive a 20% discount on program fees. Registration is handled at the KBCC Front Desk with the current form, photo ID, proof of residency and payment.

Youth & Teen Programs

The Village publishes a Fall 2026 youth program brochure and a 2026 Youth Program Registration Form. Because activities and session dates rotate, use that brochure for the current class list rather than relying on an older schedule.

Fall 2026 Adult & Senior Programs

Current listings include Chair Yoga, Stretch & Strength Training, Matter of Balance, Tai Chi, Enhance Fitness, Rock Steady Boxing, Jewelry Design, Pickleball, Fitness & Yoga Classes and Active Seniors videos.

For older-adult users comparing activity types before registering, our senior community center programs guide explains common fitness, social, learning and support services to look for.

Register in 6 Practical Steps

  1. Confirm eligibility: verify that the program accepts your age group and that you meet the Key Biscayne residency requirement.
  2. Open the exact official program page: use the current youth/teen or adult/senior page, not an old brochure saved elsewhere.
  3. Download the current form: the official 2026 pages link the current youth and adult registration forms.
  4. Prepare ID and residency proof: bring a driver’s license or passport plus an accepted current residency document; leases are not accepted.
  5. Register at the front desk: bring the form and payment to 10 Village Green Way and ask staff to apply the KBCC member discount if eligible.
  6. Save the confirmation: note the class date, time, room, instructor contact if provided and refund deadline.
Online-registration trap: the Village’s current WebTrac page states that, effective May 2025, Calusa Park Picnic Shelter Rentals are the only option available for online registration. Do not assume a normal KBCC class can be completed online unless the specific official program page says so.

Group Exercise & Yoga

The Community Center lists Body Sculpting, Spinning, Step and Yoga. Participants must be at least 15; no one under 15 may be in the room during a group exercise class. Bring your punch pass and ID, and arrive early because classes—especially spinning—can fill.

  • Open-toed shoes and flip-flops are not permitted.
  • Yoga mats are not provided; bring your own mat.
  • Bring a sweat towel and water bottle.
Price-date warning: the current Village page still displays group-exercise rates labeled “effective October 1, 2022” ($15 member/$20 non-member single pass; $60 member 5-pack; $100 member 10-pack). Because that price date is old, confirm the current charge before buying a pass.

Island Room Rentals for Parties & Meetings

Key Biscayne residents planning an approved special event can ask about the Island Room, also called the Multi-Purpose Room. The second-floor space can accommodate up to 150 guests, offers small and large room configurations and includes a warming kitchen.

The current Village rental page does not publish a universal room price. Call the front desk for the current rate, availability, deposit/payment terms, setup rules, cancellation terms and whether your event needs the Village alcohol permit.

  1. Know your event date, guest count and preferred room configuration.
  2. Call 305-365-8900 or visit the front desk to check availability.
  3. Ask for the current Island Room Rental Contract.
  4. Confirm all charges and policies before paying.
  5. If alcohol is planned, review the Village policy and permit application before making final arrangements.

If your event location is flexible and you want to compare another Florida municipal venue, the Jupiter Community Center rental and visitor guide explains a different city-run room-reservation setup.

Accessibility, Caregivers & Basic Conduct

The Village states that it complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. For a reasonable accommodation, call 305-365-8900 and allow about two weeks before the activity or need when possible.

A caregiver accompanying a member is not charged as long as the caregiver does not use the facility and remains with the member. The code of conduct prohibits fighting, abusive language, glass containers, tobacco, pets, weapons and alcohol in the Community Center; activity-appropriate footwear and clothing are required.
