Programs for Children, Teens and Families

The Trager Family JCC offers more than recreational swimming and fitness. Parents can explore several age-specific programs, although registration, eligibility and prices vary.

Roth Family Early Learning Center

Early childhood education, enrichment and developmental experiences for young children. Ask about age eligibility, admissions, tuition, enrollment availability and parent tours.

Camp J

Seasonal day-camp experiences with recreation, friendship and age-appropriate activities. Review camp dates, transportation, medical forms, registration deadlines and extended-care options.

Club J

After-school programming that combines activities, homework opportunities and supervised recreation. Confirm participating schools, transportation and pickup requirements.

Swim School and Youth Aquatics

Swimming instruction and aquatic programs for different abilities. Ask about placement, instructor ratios, required swim items and session fees.

Before Registering a Child

  • Check the required age or school grade and session dates.
  • Ask about program capacity, waitlists and cancellation policies.
  • Prepare emergency contacts, authorized pickup details and any required medical information.
  • Confirm whether membership provides a discounted program price.
  • Ask whether registration fees, transportation, meals or extended care cost extra.

Parents comparing local recreation-center structures may also find our E.L. Hannah Community Center family programs and membership guide useful for understanding how pool access, youth activities and class fees differ between facilities.

Arts, Culture, Theatre and Community Events

The Louisville Jewish Community Center hosts cultural and educational experiences alongside fitness and family programs. Not every event requires a fitness membership.

  • CenterStage: Theatre productions and performing-arts education.
  • Louisville Jewish Film Festival: Film programming and cultural discussions.
  • Jewish cultural events: Educational celebrations, community gatherings and seasonal programming.
  • Family activities: Age-appropriate events and activities scheduled throughout the year.
  • Adult enrichment: Lectures, discussion groups, social activities and creative programs.

Some performances require paid tickets; others may be free with advance registration. Look at the individual event listing for date, start time, venue, seating requirements and any age restrictions.

AgeWell: Senior Activities and Services

The JCC’s AgeWell programs support older adults through social activities, nutrition, cultural opportunities and fitness. Options include group lunches, discussion groups, lectures, games, book clubs and selected fitness or aquatics classes.

Depending on the membership or program, visitors may be able to participate in senior social activities, indoor track walking, group fitness and reserved meal services.

AgeWell contact: For current program eligibility, lunch reservations and membership options, call 502-238-2749.

The official program information also describes weekday kosher lunches and additional options for eligible older adults. Ask staff about meal reservations, donations, delivery eligibility and accessibility needs.

Guest Visits, Day Passes and First-Time Entry

People attending a ticketed community event, touring the building, joining a member or considering a fitness visit may have different admission requirements.

The published membership policy refers to guest privileges and member identification. However, it does not establish one universal day-pass price for every visitor, age group or activity.

Do not assume non-members can use the fitness center or pool without approval. Ask Member Services whether a guest pass is available for your intended date, whether a member must accompany you, what identification is required and which facilities are included.

First-Visit Checklist

  • Government-issued photo ID if requested for entry.
  • Membership card or approved guest confirmation.
  • Swimwear, towel or suitable exercise clothing.
  • Class reservation, event ticket or program confirmation.
  • Required forms for childcare or youth programs.
  • Extra time for parking and check-in.

Parking and Accessibility

Use the Dutchmans Lane address for navigation. Because the campus contains fitness, childcare and event facilities, visitors should ask which entrance and parking area is appropriate for their activity.

Before visiting, contact the center if you need information about accessible parking, entrances, seating, mobility assistance or pool accessibility. Availability of specific accessibility equipment should be confirmed directly.

Can You Rent Event Space at the Louisville JCC?

The JCC has facilities used for meetings, community functions, arts and special events. Rental availability, capacity, equipment and fees depend on the requested space and event format.

How to Request a Rental

  2. Estimate attendance, preferred date and the number of hours required.
  3. Ask about room capacity, food policies, audiovisual equipment, staffing and parking.
  4. Request the official rental agreement, total price and deposit requirements.
  5. Review cancellation terms, then complete the reservation directly with the JCC.
