Redevelopment & Future Closure Updates
The historic Green Lake Community Center dates to 1928; Evans Pool was added in 1955. Seattle Parks is pursuing a major improvement project involving the community center, aquatic facilities and play area.
The official project page was updated October 20, 2026 and says planning, design and construction are being resumed. No definitive future closure start date should be assumed from that update alone.
- Check the Seattle Parks redevelopment page before making long-range plans.
- Look for approved schedules, public engagement updates and construction notices.
- Confirm whether the gym and Evans Pool will have separate operational changes.
- Contact staff before paying for a long-term class or future event reservation.
