Current pool status: The City of Santa Fe announced the natatorium reopening effective October 2, 2026. These are the new published hours. A later maintenance or staffing issue could still change availability.

Which Pool Should You Use?

50-Meter Lap Pool

Suitable for fitness swimming, structured lap sessions, swim training and organized aquatic programs.

Therapy Pool

Warmer-water recreation and lower-impact water exercise. Pool access is divided into shorter time windows.

Leisure Pool

Best suited to family recreation and children during designated open-swim sessions. Toddler time is restricted to children ages four and younger.

Swimming Lessons

The Recreation Division offers learn-to-swim programming. Class enrollment, level assessment, instructor availability and fees follow separate schedules.

Before swimming: Call the aquatic desk at 505-955-4052 if you need to confirm slides, lap lanes, therapy access or swimming lessons. Specific water features may be unavailable even while the pool is open.

Ice Skating, Skate Rentals, Hockey and Curling

GCCC operates an indoor ice arena offering public skating, figure skating, hockey, curling and related lessons. Ice availability changes weekly because practices, leagues and events share the rink.

Skate rental
$3 per session

Figure and hockey skates are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Same-day sharpening
$10

Overnight skate sharpening is listed at $7.50. Payment is required before service.

Programs
Skating • Hockey • Curling

Lessons, youth and adult leagues, specialty programs and selected events.

How to Find a Public Skating Session

  1. Open the City of Santa Fe GCCC page.
  2. Scroll to the GCCC Ice Arena section.
  3. Select the weekly schedule covering your planned date. For October 16, 2026, use the October 12–18 schedule.
  4. Find a session specifically labeled public skating rather than hockey, curling or private ice.
  5. Confirm the session cost and skate rental availability with arena staff.
  6. Arrive before the scheduled start to allow time for admission, skate fitting and changing.

Hockey and Curling

GCCC supports recreational hockey programs and youth hockey through community partnerships. Curling opportunities may include introductory classes, drop-in play, leagues and group events.

For current program information, the city links to the Santa Fe Skating Club, Santa Fe Hockey Association and Curl Santa Fe through its ice arena page.

Gym, Pickleball, Racquetball, Track and Fitness

The center is also suitable for people who want indoor exercise without swimming or skating.

Basketball & Volleyball

A full-size regulation basketball gym with adjoining warm-up areas accommodates casual recreation, leagues, clinics and scheduled events.

Pickleball

The city’s published challenge-court hours list Monday–Friday, 6 AM–noon. Courts are first-come, first-served and subject to program changes.

Racquetball

Two courts are available. Drop-in use requires a reservation. Published reservation fees are $2 per hour for nonmembers, with no reservation fee for members.

Fitness & Walking Track

Cardio equipment, strength-training machines, weight equipment, an indoor track and instructor-led fitness programming support different workout goals.

Gym Access and Sports Equipment

Drop-in recreation generally operates during most regular building hours, but scheduled programs can restrict court availability. The city says visitors may borrow certain sports equipment by leaving an identification item, keys or another accepted deposit item until equipment is returned.

For racquetball court reservations, contact the main desk at 505-955-4067.

Personal Training

Personal training is available through approved arrangements. Trainers working at GCCC must meet city requirements, including appropriate certification, CPR/First Aid/AED credentials, insurance and applicable facility charges.

Fitness contact: 505-955-4075 or aalarid@santafenm.gov.

Children’s Programs, Youth Camps and Sports

The City of Santa Fe’s recreation system offers youth sports, after-school activities, summer programs and structured classes. GCCC is used for both recreation and program registration.

Types of Programs

  • Developmental basketball and volleyball.
  • Youth ice hockey and skating lessons.
  • Swimming lessons and aquatic instruction.
  • Seasonal youth camps and recreation activities.
  • Indoor sports, movement and fitness programs.
  • Group recreational activities and specialty programs.

Summer Youth Program Example

For its published 2026 summer program, the city listed ages 6–12, a June 1–July 24 session, full-time attendance, and sliding-scale program fees. Families were required to schedule a registration appointment in advance and register in person on April 11.

Proof of age could include a birth certificate, passport or immunization record. Income documentation was required for applicable fee assessment.

Registration status: The above summer 2026 dates have passed. They illustrate how enrollment works, not an open registration opportunity. Check the next season’s official announcement before gathering documents or making a trip.

How to Register for Future Youth Programs

  1. Open the City of Santa Fe Recreation Programs page.
  2. Find the announced youth camp, sports league or seasonal program.
  3. Check the applicable age range, registration dates and whether enrollment is online or appointment-based.
  4. Gather proof of age, income or other documents specifically required for that program.
  5. Complete registration using the process listed in that season’s official instructions.
  6. Keep confirmation, payment receipts, program dates and pickup instructions.

Birthday Parties, Ice Rink Rentals and Event Spaces

GCCC offers approved rentals that can include the ice arena, gym spaces, swimming facilities and indoor gathering rooms. The exact fee and reservation requirements depend on the activity and the requested date.

Published Ice Skating Birthday Party Package

City’s published party package
$175 for up to 15 skaters

The city’s ice-skating party flyer describes a 90-minute package including skating admission, skate rental and either the rink-side party area or a classroom.

Guardians and chaperones are not charged under the published package. Families may bring food, desserts and nonalcoholic beverages, subject to event rules. Helium balloons are not permitted in the ice arena.

Party Times in the Published Flyer

DayListed party sessions
Saturday12:15–1:45 PM; 2:15–3:45 PM
Sunday12:15–1:45 PM

These prices and session times come from a 2023 official flyer, not a newly confirmed 2026 rental quote. Ask the ice arena to verify the current package and weekend availability.

Other Spaces

Possible rental requests include sports courts, group rooms and approved pool activities. The city has not provided a sufficiently clear current public rate table for every space in the sources reviewed, so do not assume the skating-party price applies to other rentals.

How to Request a Birthday Party or Facility Rental

  1. Choose the activity. Decide between an ice-skating party, sports court, swimming event or indoor gathering room.
  2. Estimate attendance. Identify the number of participants, age range and supervising adults.
  3. Choose preferred dates. Prepare at least one alternative because rink and pool sessions are shared with regular programs.
  4. Open the official center page. Find the birthday party or rental information and the relevant reservation form.
  5. Contact the facility. For ice events, call 505-955-4033. For general rental questions, call 505-955-4067.
  6. Confirm the full quote. Ask about admission, equipment, staffing, setup, cleanup, food, decorations, deposits and cancellation terms.
  7. Submit your request. Return the completed official form according to staff instructions.
  8. Obtain written confirmation. A submitted form is not itself a confirmed reservation. Wait for the city to approve the date and details.
