The monthly equivalents sometimes shown in the City’s annual table describe annual-pass costs spread over 12 months; they are not necessarily month-to-month subscriptions.

Which Pass Is Best?

  • One or two visits: Daily admission is simplest.
  • Occasional visits over time: Compare the 20-punch card with individual admissions.
  • Regular exercise for a season: Consider the three-month option.
  • Frequent year-round use: Compare annual memberships and resident discounts.
  • Multiple household members: Ask whether a family pass provides better value than individual memberships.

Facilities: Pools, Track, Gym, Fitness & More

Indoor Aquatic Center

Five-lane lap pool, leisure pool, lazy river, water slide, diving board, climbing wall, hot tub and a dedicated tot area.

Outdoor Pool

Seasonal aquatic area with a four-lane lap pool and children’s play area. Summer schedules and availability differ from indoor swimming.

Fitness Area

Free weights, selectorized strength machines, cardio equipment, stretching space and group fitness studio.

Gymnasium

Open basketball and scheduled pickleball, along with community programs and events that may temporarily reserve court space.

Indoor Running Track

Indoor walking and running area with age and adult-supervision rules for younger participants.

Family & Community Areas

Indoor playground, RecRats childcare, meeting rooms, senior center services and a public library branch.

Indoor Pool Schedule, Water Slide & Swimming Rules

The indoor pool supports lap swimming, open swimming, swim lessons, aquatic exercise and recreational features. However, all features are not available at every hour.

Indoor Pool Features

  • Five lap-swimming lanes.
  • One-meter diving board.
  • Aqua Climb climbing wall.
  • Lazy river and vortex area.
  • Water slide.
  • Hot tub and children’s tot area.

The City’s pool schedule separates open swim, lap swim, limited lap swim and swimming lessons. A previously published August–September 2026 schedule, for example, reserved some Tuesday and Thursday evening periods for swim lessons. Those dates have passed, so they should not be used as today’s swim schedule.

Important Rules for Parents

  • Children younger than 10 must be accompanied in the facility by a guardian age 16 or older.
  • Children age 6 and younger must have an adult in the water within arm’s reach.
  • Non-swimmers need appropriate adult supervision regardless of age.
  • Young children and anyone not toilet-trained must follow swim diaper requirements.
  • Swimmers may need to pass the City’s Swim Competency Sequence before using certain deep-water features.
  • Water slide and diving board operation depends on lifeguard staffing and the pool schedule.
  • Hot tub access is age-restricted; review the posted aquatic rules.
Do not assume the slide is open: Aquatics staff may close the slide, climbing wall or diving board because of staffing, capacity, maintenance or safety requirements. Confirm the feature you want on the day of your visit.

Fitness Classes, Gym Access & Pickleball

Fitness at Fruita Community Center includes cardio and strength equipment, personal training, wellness programs and group exercise. The City states that its fitness offerings are included with facility membership, with daily drop-in admission also available.

Fitness Age Requirements

AgeAccess rule
Under 14Not permitted in the upstairs fitness equipment area.
14–16Must complete Youth Fitness Orientation before using fitness equipment, according to the current facility page.
17 and olderFollow regular facility admission, equipment and conduct requirements.
10–13May use the running track with an accompanying adult aged 16 or older.
The City’s current fitness webpage permits fitness-area use from age 14 after orientation where required. A 2025 patron-guidelines PDF contains older wording referring to age 15, so parents should follow the current staff-confirmed policy rather than relying on that conflicting line alone.

Pickleball Drop-In Times

The City lists half-court drop-in pickleball on Monday through Thursday, 6 AM–noon. Basketball hoops are generally available outside pickleball times when the gym is not reserved for another activity.

Special events, leagues and recreation classes may use all or part of the gym, so ask the front desk before driving solely for court access.

Kids’ Programs, Swim Lessons, Camps & Activity Registration

Fruita Parks and Recreation offers seasonal programs such as youth athletics, swim lessons, camps, art activities, fitness classes and special community events. The Fall 2026 Activity Guide is the appropriate seasonal starting point for visits during autumn 2026.

Youth Athletics

Seasonal sports and skill development programs. Registration may have age, grade or equipment requirements.

Recreation Camps

School-break and summer programs with activity-specific eligibility, times and registration deadlines.

Art & Enrichment

Creative and community programs announced through the City’s activity guides.

Adult Wellness

Fitness classes, water exercise, personal training and other health-oriented recreation opportunities.

Senior Center & SilverSneakers Programs

Fruita Community Center includes senior recreation and wellness services. The City participates in SilverSneakers, Silver&Fit Basic and Renew Active, which may provide eligible members with access through participating health plans.

Available Senior Wellness Activities

  • SilverSneakers Classic for strength and movement.
  • SilverSneakers Yoga Stretch for flexibility and balance.
  • SilverSneakers Cardio Circuit for cardiovascular exercise.
  • Aquatic fitness opportunities such as Platinum Splashers when scheduled.
  • Senior recreation and social opportunities.

How to Check Insurance Eligibility

  1. Bring your health-insurance or fitness-benefit information to the community center front desk.
  2. Ask whether your plan participates in SilverSneakers, Silver&Fit Basic or Renew Active at Fruita.
  3. Have staff verify the eligibility and membership process.
  4. Check which programs or facility services the benefit covers.
  5. Choose an available class using the current fitness schedule.
Important: Eligibility depends on your actual insurance or benefit plan. An advertised fitness program does not mean every senior automatically receives a free membership.

Meeting Room & Birthday Party Rental Rates

The City of Fruita offers a flexible meeting-room arrangement, a pool party room and outdoor aquatic shelters. Some rentals can be started online; the front desk can confirm current availability and conditions.

Meeting Rooms

The main meeting area measures approximately 1,860 square feet and can be divided into three individual rooms. The published meeting-room capacity is 93 people. An adjacent patio area is included with rentals where applicable.

SpaceRateRefundable deposit
Cherry Room$30/hour$50 / $100 with alcohol
Peach Room$30/hour$50 / $100 with alcohol
Plum Room$30/hour$50 / $100 with alcohol
Full Meeting Room$90/hour$150 / $300 with alcohol
Kitchen$30/hour$100

Alcohol-related deposit rates are listed on the City’s rental webpage, but do not assume alcohol is automatically authorized. Ask which approvals, insurance, permits and conditions apply to your event.

Pool Parties & Outdoor Shelters

SpacePublished rateDeposit
Pool Party Room$90 for 2 hours$50
Outdoor Pool Shelter$20/hourNone listed

The pool party room is next to the indoor pool and has a published capacity of 28 people. A standard booking includes 10 child/youth passes and 2 adult pool passes. Additional guests receive a $2 reduction from their applicable daily admission charge.

Rental deadline: The City’s patron guidelines require reservations at least one week in advance and full payment when the reservation is made. Cancellations generally must be submitted at least one week before the reserved date to avoid losing the rental fees.

How to Book a Room or Pool Party

  1. Choose your event type: meeting, birthday party, family gathering, class or another approved activity.
  2. Select the space: Cherry, Peach, Plum, full meeting room, kitchen, pool party room or outdoor shelter.
  3. Check your guest count: the full meeting-room capacity is listed as 93, while the pool party room holds 28.
  4. Calculate the base price: for example, two hours in an individual meeting room cost $60 before any deposit or other charges.
  5. Open the official rental page: choose the room or pool party reservation option provided by the City.
  6. Choose a date and time: review availability and make the reservation at least one week ahead.
  7. Review the requirements: ask about setup, decorations, food, outside vendors, supervision and additional pool guests.
  8. Pay and confirm: complete the required rental payment and deposit, and keep the approved booking confirmation.
  9. Arrive within your reserved time: follow the assigned room-use block and cleanup instructions.

Pool Party Example

A two-hour pool party room rental costs $90, plus the $50 refundable deposit, making the initial amount $140 before any extra guests or optional charges. The included wristbands cover 10 children/youth and two adults. Additional admission should be budgeted separately.

Decoration rule: Helium balloons are permitted in the pool party and multi-use rooms under published guidelines but not elsewhere in the facility. Decorations are not permitted in pool areas or the gymnasium.

RecRats Childcare & Children’s Access Rules

RecRats is the center’s child-sitting program. It provides supervised, age-appropriate activities while eligible caregivers use the community center.

Published Summer 2026 childcare hours included Monday–Thursday 8 AM–noon and 4–8 PM, Friday 8 AM–noon and 3–7 PM, and Saturday 8 AM–noon. Because those hours are seasonal, call for the current schedule before depending on childcare availability.

General Youth Rules

  • Children younger than 10 must be accompanied by a guardian age 16 or older in the facility.
  • Children younger than 14 cannot use the upstairs fitness equipment area.
  • Children aged 14–16 require fitness orientation before using the fitness equipment.
  • Children age 6 and younger need direct, arm’s-reach adult supervision while swimming.
  • RecRats capacity is limited and depends on staff-to-child ratios.

Mesa County Libraries Fruita Branch

A Mesa County Libraries branch is located inside Fruita Community Center. Visitors can combine a recreation visit with library services, but the library maintains its own operating hours and service rules.

For borrowing, computer access, events or library-card questions, check Mesa County Libraries directly. Do not assume the library remains open throughout all community center operating hours.
