How to Use the Walk-In Sexual Health Clinic

  1. Check the correct day. Choose an available Tuesday–Friday walk-in period.
  2. Register first if you are new. Call 617-927-6100 for a smoother patient check-in process.
  3. Prepare available insurance information. If payment or privacy is a concern, ask about assistance and billing arrangements.
  4. Arrive early. The clinic is first-come, first-served and may stop accepting patients before closing.
  5. Go to the fourth floor. Inform the appropriate reception team that you are seeking sexual health services.
  6. Discuss the needed service. Explain whether you need testing, STI assessment, HIV prevention or follow-up treatment.
  7. Ask about results. The clinic lists typical testing results in approximately three to five business days, depending on the test.
Possible recent HIV exposure? PEP must be evaluated urgently and generally started within 72 hours of a possible exposure. Do not wait for a routine walk-in session if doing so could delay time-sensitive care.

Insurance, Sliding-Fee Discounts & Payment Help

Fenway Health assists patients with insurance enrollment and offers financial assistance options for eligible individuals. No one is denied care solely because of inability to pay, according to the provider’s published policy.

Patients With Insurance

  • Confirm that your exact plan is accepted.
  • Check copayments and deductibles.
  • Ask about coverage for specialists and laboratory work.
  • Confirm referrals or prior authorizations.
  • Discuss billing privacy if confidentiality is a concern.

Uninsured or Underinsured

  • Ask about MassHealth enrollment assistance.
  • Request a sliding-fee assessment.
  • Check eligibility for grant-supported services.
  • Explain your household financial circumstances.
  • Request an estimate of expected charges.

How to Request Financial Assistance

  1. Call the financial assistance advisor. Use 617-927-6007.

  5. Complete the assessment. The advisor reviews your circumstances and eligible assistance.
  6. Confirm the cost. Ask about remaining copays, lab charges, prescriptions and follow-up visits.
