If your visit depends on one specific class, court or childcare session, contact the front desk before leaving.

Daily Admission: Visit Without a Membership

The City publishes day-pass and 10-visit punch-pass options. These are useful if you want occasional access rather than a recurring fitness membership.

Visitor categoryDaily fee10-punch pass
Adult, ages 18–62$6$54
Youth, age 17 and under$4$36
Senior, age 60+$4$36
Family$15$135
Age-category detail: the City’s individual adult membership category is ages 18–59, while its daily-admission table says adults ages 18–62 and seniors age 60+. That creates an overlap for ages 60–62. Ask the front desk to apply the appropriate age-based discount.

What Does the Day Pass Cover?

A general X Center day pass provides access to applicable general recreation and fitness areas, subject to age restrictions, scheduled activities and available space. The outdoor Aquatics Center operates separately.

Before paying, check whether your intended activity requires separate registration or fees.

Quick savings check: nine $6 adult visits cost $54, the same as the 10-punch adult pass. The punch pass can be more economical if you plan frequent visits.

Indoor Walking Track, Basketball & Pickleball

Indoor Walking / Running Track

The indoor track is located on the second floor of the X Center and circles the gymnasium. The City’s facility information describes approximately 16–18 laps per mile.

The number of laps depends on your lane and route. Use the posted track directions and observe passing rules.

Open Gym / Basketball

The X Center has a multipurpose gymnasium supporting basketball and other activities. Open-gym periods are scheduled around leagues, practices, classes and rentals.

The City does not publish a fixed daily open-gym timetable on its main facility listing. Ask the front desk about available basketball time on your intended date.

Pickleball

The City’s published fitness page lists pickleball at the X Center on:

Tuesday7:30 AM–10:30 AM

Published cost$5 per person

Confirm that the published sessions are still operating before arriving. Nixa also has outdoor pickleball lines on the tennis courts at Rotary Park.

Room Rentals at Nixa Community Center

Nixa Parks & Recreation rents meeting and community-wing rooms inside the X Center. The City publishes room sizes and capacities, although its current rental page does not provide a complete public price table.

RoomSizeCapacity
James Room425 sq ft24 seated; 25 maximum
Finley Room380 sq ft24 seated; 25 maximum
Missouri Room610 sq ft42 seated; 42 maximum
Mississippi Room595 sq ft44 seated; 42 maximum listed
Osage Room900 sq ft60 maximum
Community Wing Room2,105 sq ft146 maximum
Mississippi Room discrepancy: the City’s current rental page lists seating capacity 44 but maximum standing occupancy 42. Treat 42 as the safer planning figure and obtain the approved occupancy from staff.

Room Amenities

  • James Room: sink available.
  • Finley Room: no special room amenities specified.
  • Missouri Room: sink available.
  • Mississippi Room: sink available.
  • Osage Room: warming kitchen and patio access.
  • Community Wing: warming kitchen and patio access.
Choosing the right room: James or Finley is suitable for a small meeting; Missouri or Mississippi can serve medium-size groups; Osage and the Community Wing offer larger gathering capacity.

Room rental prices and booking deposits should be requested directly. Do not assume that an older online rental price or another city’s rate applies to Nixa.

For help comparing room capacity, hourly rates and event restrictions at a different public facility, see the Warren Community Center rental planning guide. Warren is in Michigan, so its charges are not Nixa rates.

How to Rent a Meeting Room or Community Wing

1. Choose the event type

Decide whether the gathering is a meeting, family celebration, birthday, workshop, reception or community activity.

2. Estimate attendance

Use the room capacities above and include space for tables, food, presentations and accessible pathways.

3. Select the room

Choose James, Finley, Missouri, Mississippi, Osage or the Community Wing based on attendance and facilities.

4. Prepare possible dates

Have your preferred date, alternative dates and event start/end times ready. Ask whether setup and cleanup count toward the booked period.

5. Contact the X Center

Call 417-725-5486 or visit the front desk. Ask about availability, exact rental rate, minimum booking time and applicable deposit.

6. Clarify event rules

Confirm food, warming kitchen use, outside vendors, decorations, furniture, insurance, music and cancellation requirements.

7. Submit the official request

Use the reservation method provided by Nixa Parks & Recreation. An inquiry does not automatically confirm a booking.

8. Complete payment and confirmation

Follow the City’s instructions and keep the signed agreement or official confirmation before paying other event vendors.

Nixa Aquatics Center: Outdoor Pool & Swim Programs

The outdoor Nixa Aquatics Center is located next to the X Center at 701 N. Taylor Way. It is a separate seasonal pool facility, not an indoor swimming pool included with the general fitness membership.
