Programs, Classes & Youth Activities

The Redlands Recreation Division provides organized recreational, sports and enrichment opportunities. Class availability changes by season and age group.

Types of Activities to Check

  • Youth enrichment and recreation programs
  • Dance and movement classes
  • Art, creative learning and cultural activities
  • Community organization activities
  • Fitness and wellness programs
  • Seasonal workshops and special events

Important: this is a guide to the types of programming associated with the City Recreation Division. It does not mean every activity has an open session today.

Music Changing Lives Programs

Music Changing Lives identifies Redlands Community Center as a location for after-school enrichment. Its published program overview includes art, vocal and studio activities. Sessions may be group-based or individual and are scheduled by appointment, depending on enrollment.

For a different California example combining youth enrichment, senior activities and municipal recreation facilities, see our Seven Trees Community Center youth, gym and recreation programs guide. The two cities operate separate enrollment systems and fee schedules.

How to Register for Redlands Recreation Classes

Redlands uses an ActiveNet/Active Communities recreation registration system for eligible programs.

  1. Open the registration system. Visit the official Redlands recreation portal using the button below.
  2. Create an account. Select the account-creation option if you have not registered before.
  3. Enter participant details. Provide the requested contact information and add the family members who will participate.
  4. Find the program. Search for your preferred sport, class, activity or session.
  5. Check eligibility. Review minimum age, session dates, fees, prerequisites, attendance rules and availability.
  6. Complete the registration. Accept the required participant waiver and review any optional photo-release agreement.
  7. Pay through the official portal. The City advises that online transactions may include a small nonrefundable convenience fee.
  8. Save confirmation. Check your email or account for session information and instructions.
A class registration does not automatically authorize general use of the gym or racquetball courts outside the program’s scheduled time. Confirm any separate facility-use requirements.

Room Rentals: Facilities, Capacities & Published Prices

The City’s most detailed downloadable rental application lists room sizes, capacities and hourly prices. However, that document states its pricing was valid through June 2026. The following table therefore shows the last verified published rates, not guaranteed October 2026 prices.

Pricing limitation: these amounts come from a City application explicitly marked valid through June 2026. Call 909-798-7572 for the current rate and a written itemized quote. Older City pages showing $27/hour room rates or $65/hour gym rentals should not be treated as current prices.

Room-Specific Restrictions

The rental application prohibits food and drinks in the gymnasium, dance studio and racquetball courts. Other rooms may allow approved food service subject to City requirements.

For a separate California municipal example with multipurpose rooms and recreation-based rental fees, our Oak Park Community Center event-space and rental guide provides a useful comparison. Its fees are for Sacramento, not Redlands.

Senior Centers: Know Which Facility You Need

Redlands operates senior programs through facilities with their own schedules and contact numbers. One senior center shares the West Lugonia Avenue address with the community center.

Phone: 909-798-7579

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8 AM–2 PM. Thursday: 8 AM–7:30 PM. Closed weekends.

Local Youth and Family Services

The Recreation Division primarily provides activity-based services. Visitors needing food assistance, childcare, financial support or broader family services should identify the appropriate agency rather than assuming the gym’s front desk administers those benefits.

For an example of a California nonprofit focused on childcare, food assistance, family counseling and youth enrichment, see our All Peoples Community Center family and youth services guide. That organization serves Los Angeles and does not operate Redlands Community Center.

For Redlands-specific assistance, the City’s Recreation Division also references a community resource booklet of nonprofit providers serving the greater Redlands and San Bernardino area.
