Kirkwood Ice Arena: Public Skating, Fees and Lessons

The Kirkwood Ice Arena is located at the same recreation complex at 111 S. Geyer Road. It supports public skating, lessons and scheduled hockey or figure-skating activities.

2026 Public Skating Admission

ItemPublished price
Kirkwood/Glendale resident admission$6 per person
Nonresident admission$7 per person
Skate rental$3 per pair

For ice arena resident pricing, the City specifies that visitors must live in Kirkwood or Glendale and provide identification. This skating-residency rule should not be assumed to apply identically to all other recreation programs.

Rules for First-Time Skaters

  • Public skating is available only during scheduled sessions.
  • Skate aids, sometimes called buckets, are first-come, first-served and limited to one per skater.
  • Bucket aids are generally for children age 8 and younger, accompanied by an adult.
  • Full hockey equipment is discouraged during public skating and allowed only for children age 8 and under under the posted rule.
  • Arrive early if you need rented skates, especially during busy weekend sessions.

Skating Lessons for 2026–27

The official arena information advertises skating lessons for ages 4 and older. Its 2026–27 schedule includes a second fall session on Mondays from November 2 to December 14, 2026, and Wednesdays from November 4 to December 16, 2026. Later sessions are also scheduled during winter.

These are lesson sessions, not automatic public-skating times. Class availability and instructor assignments should be confirmed before registration.

If you want to compare skating centers, ice admission, skate rental fees and lesson requirements, the Chaska Community Center skating and ice arena guide covers another municipal recreation complex with public skating, hockey and lessons.

Kirkwood Aquatic Center: Seasonal Pool Information

The Kirkwood Aquatic Center is part of the recreation complex, but it operates seasonally. It should not be confused with an indoor pool that stays open year-round.

After September 7, 2026The published 2026 summer season has ended. No regular late-October public-swim schedule is listed.
October visitor alert: do not assume outdoor swimming is available just because the community center office or ice arena is operating. Check the next published aquatic season before planning a pool visit.

For families planning ahead, the 2026 aquatic information included discounted youth, adult, senior and household season-pass options and private pool-party arrangements. Those are seasonal rates, not guaranteed prices for the next summer.

Robert G. Reim Theater Rental Rates

Theater itemPublished amount
Theater rehearsal day$200
Theater performance day$600
Additional show fee$150 per show

The City lists a theater capacity of 378. Confirm availability, rehearsal needs, event staffing, technical equipment, insurance and all additional fees before committing to a performance date.

How to Book a Room, Gym or Party

1. Decide what type of space you need.

Choose a meeting room, activity room, gym, movement studio, The Third Floor or theater according to guest count and intended activity.

2. Check the capacity and price.

Compare the published capacity, hourly charge and eligibility for resident or nonprofit rates.

3. Select your date and required hours.

Include arrival, setup, event duration and cleanup. Some room rentals include a setup and breakdown allowance; do not assume it applies to every space.

4. Check availability.

Visit the City’s facility reservation page or email nelkepa@kirkwoodmo.org with the room name, date, time, guest count and event type.

5. Confirm conditions.

Ask about tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, food, decorations, music, staff, damage charges, insurance and cancellation policies.

6. Complete the official reservation.

The City states payment is due when booking. Review all checkout details and keep your reservation confirmation.

Before paying: an online date selection is not proof that every event arrangement has been approved. Request written clarification for events involving catering, ticket sales, a fundraiser, special equipment or unusual setup.

Resident Rates, Eligibility and ID

Some Kirkwood recreation services use resident and nonresident fees. Different programs can define eligibility differently, so confirm the rule for the specific purchase.

Kirkwood Parks & Recreation states that its resident ID-card process can require proof of current address and identity. For eligible applicants age 16 and older, documents include a valid Missouri driver’s license or state ID and a recently issued qualifying proof of address.

The resident ID card is published at $15 and is valid for up to three years. Ask whether a resident card is required for your chosen activity instead of buying one automatically.

Ice skating exception: the ice arena specifies that Kirkwood and Glendale residents qualify for its listed resident public-skating rate, with identification required.
