Central Community Center: Plan Your Gym, Class or Rental Visit

Central Community Center (CCC) is a Mt. Prospect Park District recreation facility located at 1000 W. Central Road, Mount Prospect, IL 60056. It offers a fitness center, youth gymnasium, indoor synthetic turf, pickleball, basketball, volleyball programming, preschool activities and rentable spaces.

Whether you want to use the gym, attend a fitness program, book a sports practice or reserve a room for a celebration, the most important thing is to check the schedule for that specific activity. Building hours do not guarantee every court or space is available.

Step 2 — Check the published starting fee

Use the rates above to estimate the rental cost. Remember that meeting rooms are listed for up to 25 guests.

Step 3 — Select your preferred date

Prepare two possible dates and accurate start/end times. Include any setup and cleanup time you need.

Step 4 — Contact the facility

Step 5 — Review the conditions

Ask about equipment, supervision, insurance, refunds, food and decorations, extra staffing and permitted activities.

Step 6 — Submit the rental request

Use the Park District’s official rental request form. The form requires JavaScript; if it does not load, the district recommends clearing browser cache or history.

Step 7 — Confirm the booking

Wait for official availability, cost and payment instructions. Keep a copy of your confirmation and do not treat a form submission as an approved reservation.

When ready, complete the official Central Community Center rental request form.

To compare the kinds of youth, family and recreation programs available at larger community facilities, the Seven Trees Community Center family-program guide offers a useful example. Its programs are in San Jose, California, rather than Mount Prospect.

Local shortcut: if you need swimming, check RecPlex rather than assuming Central Community Center has a pool. If your goal is indoor turf or batting cage rental, Central Community Center is the more relevant facility to contact.

Accessibility & Seasonal Safety

Central Community Center appears on the Village of Mount Prospect’s published cooling and warming center information. However, that does not mean the building is always available as an emergency shelter, and facility hours or access may change during extreme weather.

For an ordinary visit, ask the district about accessible entrances, parking, restrooms, program accommodations and available equipment before arriving.

For planning inclusive recreational activities and accessible program participation, the Matt Dishman Community Center guide to recreation access and schedules provides another public-center example. It is a Portland facility, not an alternative location in Mount Prospect.

Emergency reminder: do not depend on a community center as an overnight or emergency shelter without a current official announcement. For immediate danger, contact emergency services.
