Room Rentals: Available Spaces

Germantown Community Recreation Center has several areas listed for potential reservations. Available rooms include:

  • Art Room
  • Community Room
  • Conference Room
  • Social Hall
  • Warming Kitchen
  • Other facility areas where specifically approved

Room suitability depends on your event type, guest count, furniture arrangement, food requirements, staffing and the center’s existing schedule.

Rental availability is not automatic. Ask the facility director which room is appropriate and what rate applies. A request does not become a reservation until the County approves the booking, the agreement is signed and the required payment is made.

Montgomery County Rental Rates & Deposits

The County’s published facility fee schedule, effective January 6, 2023, provides category-based prices. The figures below are useful estimates, but the final classification of a Germantown room is determined by the facility.

Facility Category / UseRegular HourlyNonprofit Hourly
Large room/community room with food$75$50
Large room/community room, meeting only$50$25
Classroom/meeting/conference room with food$40$25
Classroom/meeting room, no food$25$20
Large hall, closed invitation event$150$105
Large hall, meeting with no food/entertainment$85$80

Security deposits: Many room categories require a $100 deposit; certain large hall rentals have a $200 deposit. Meeting-only classroom bookings may have no security deposit under the general schedule.

Additional Published Charges

Nonresident rental surcharge$100 per rental
Opening on a closed day$100 per rental, with a three-hour minimum
Additional room with hall rental$50 per hour
Light-alcohol permit, if approved$60 per rental
Example only: A three-hour meeting-only rental at the published $25/hour classroom rate would total $75 before any additional applicable charges. The center must verify that the requested room and activity qualify for that rate.

County policy does not permit general public-admission or profit-making events under ordinary recreation facility reservation rules. Any approved alcohol use has additional restrictions and requires prior authorization.
