Which program should you choose? If you need regular gym or swim access, compare fitness memberships. For a child, start with age-specific classes or camps. For one-time activities, check the class registration requirements before purchasing a full membership.

Fitness Center, Pools and Tennis: What Is Included?

Fitness and aquatics membership

JCC Denver’s Fitness & Aquatics membership covers use of exercise areas, eligible group fitness classes, basketball facilities, locker rooms and the heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, subject to operating schedules.

  • Cardio, strength and circuit equipment.
  • Group cycling, yoga and other included fitness classes.
  • Locker rooms, showers, towels, steam rooms and hot tubs.
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, with year-round swimming facilities.
  • Basketball gymnasium access when available.

Private or small-group Pilates, swim instruction and personal training may carry additional fees. The center’s outdoor aquatic area also includes family amenities such as a baby pool, picnic space and playground.

Tennis requires separate access

A standard Fitness & Aquatics membership does not automatically include the James M. Swiggart Tennis Center. Tennis membership is separate. The center has four indoor courts and offers junior and adult activities.

Can non-members attend classes?

Yes, according to the center’s fitness FAQ, non-members can register for certain activities, including swim lessons and Pilates. That registration does not grant general access to the rest of the fitness facilities.

Reservation rule: Regular entry to the Fitness & Aquatics Center does not require a reservation, while group fitness class reservations are encouraged. Check the schedule before attending a particular class.

JCC Denver Membership: Choosing the Right Option

Membership depends on what you actually want to use. JCC Denver offers different ways to participate, including fitness and aquatics access, separate tennis membership and its J Perks Pass for eligible program-related benefits.

OptionUseful For
Fitness & AquaticsRegular gym workouts, pool access, group exercise and wellness amenities.
TennisIndoor court access and tennis-specific programming under the Tennis Center’s rules.
J Perks PassEligible activity discounts, priority registration and special program experiences; it is not a substitute for fitness membership.
Individual class registrationSome classes and lessons can be booked without general facility membership.
Seasonal family membershipSummer-focused family use, when the seasonal option is available.

What about monthly membership prices? A single reliable current fee could not be established for every membership category. Rates depend on the option and applicable conditions, so do not use an older promotional price as a standard rate.

Before paying, ask the membership team for the complete joining cost, monthly dues, family coverage, additional service fees, cancellation rules and whether the facilities you want are included.

Preschool, Camps and Family Programs

Early Learning School

The JCC Denver Early Learning School serves different early-childhood age groups, including infants, toddlers, twos and preschoolers. Preschool activities emphasize independence, cooperative play, problem-solving and readiness for school.

The preschool program also includes swim readiness opportunities. During the regular September–May schedule, the school describes approximately weekly indoor-pool swim readiness sessions for preschoolers.

What parents should prepare

  • Child’s date of birth and requested age group.
  • Preferred attendance schedule and intended start date.
  • Emergency contacts and authorized pickup information.
  • Health, allergy and immunization information where required.
  • Budget for tuition, deposit and applicable registration fees.

Ask about space availability and application deadlines before completing enrollment paperwork.

Spring Break 2027March 29–April 2, 2027
Registration: December 4–March 24

Camp dates are program-specific and not necessarily daily attendance dates for every child. Check the exact session before registering.

Summer choices include Camp Shai for school-age children, specialty tennis camps, Wolf Theatre Academy and Ranch Camp, a residential program in Elbert, Colorado. Some camps operate at locations away from the main Denver building.

Financial assistance: JCC Denver offers need-based scholarships for eligible programs such as its Early Learning School and selected camps. Applicants may need to supply household income, asset, expense and debt information. Program deadlines differ.

Arts, Events and Programs for Older Adults

Visitors who are not looking for a gym can still find activities at the JCC. The broader program calendar includes ceramics, drawing, painting, cooking and baking, music, Jewish cultural activities and family gatherings.

The Mizel Arts and Culture Center hosts theatre and cultural programming, with events and performances that may use ticketed admission.

Adults aged 50 and older can explore Shalom Club activities, including social gatherings, games and themed programs. Other offerings have included Mahjong, book discussions, lectures and community events.

Before an event: Check the date, ticket requirement, room, event entrance and whether the activity is open to non-members. A center membership is not necessarily an event ticket.

How to Register for a JCC Denver Class or Program

JCC Denver lists programs on its website and uses an authorized online registration system for many activities. Here is the practical process.

1

Choose an activity

Decide whether you need swim lessons, fitness, tennis, preschool, camp or another program. Know the participant’s age and preferred dates.

2

Find the program category

Open the official JCC Denver program directory. Select the relevant category or age group to narrow the offerings.

3

Review the session details

Check the dates, start time, age restrictions, number of sessions, location, registration price, available places and membership discounts where listed.

4

Confirm the requirements

For youth programs, prepare guardian details and any required health or emergency forms. Review payment, refund, missed-class and cancellation terms.

5

Complete official registration

Use the registration button associated with the chosen activity. JCC Denver’s online class store uses SmartRec/Amilia for many bookings. Create or sign into the required account and follow checkout instructions.

6

Keep your confirmation

Save the email receipt, participant schedule, start date and check-in instructions. Verify the correct entrance before the first class.

Preschool and camp registration may differ. Early Learning School applications and some camp registrations use their own systems. Use the registration link on that specific program’s official page rather than assuming every activity uses the same checkout.
